"... In this narration from Ibn Abi Dawood, it is mentioned that Ibn Abbas was asked: ‘Did Muhammad see his Lord?’ He replied: ‘Yes.’ He was then asked: ‘How did he see Him?’ Ibn Abbas said: ‘In the form of a young man with a veil of pearls below him, and it seemed as if his feet were in a green area.’ I said to Ibn Abbas: ‘Does this not contradict the verse: {No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision; He is Subtle and Aware} (Al-An’am: 103)?’ He replied: ‘No, may your mother lose you! That is His light, which is His light. When He manifests with His light, nothing can perceive Him.’ This indicates that he saw Him and reported seeing Him in the form of a young man with a veil and green below His feet. This vision aligns with the verse and is explained as such. It suggests that it was a vision with the eyes, as narrated in the authentic hadith reported by Qatadah from Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas, where the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: ‘I saw my Lord in the form of a beardless young man with flowing, curly hair in a green garden.’"

11745 - Umm al-Tufayl, the wife of Ubayy ibn Ka'b, said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: "I saw my Lord in a dream in the form of a young man with abundant hair, dressed in green, wearing golden sandals, and on His face was a golden veil."
Al-Tabarani narrated this hadith, and Ibn Hibban stated that it is a munkar (denounced) hadith because ‘Umara ibn ‘Amir ibn Hazm al-Ansari did not directly hear it from Umm al-Tufayl. Ibn Hibban mentioned this in ‘Umara’s biography in al-Thiqat (The Trustworthy).

They said: Another indication of this is the hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn Wahb, from ‘Amr ibn al-Harith, from Sa’id ibn Abi Hilal, from Marwan ibn ‘Uthman, from ‘Umara ibn ‘Amir, from Umm al-Tufayl, the wife of Ubayy ibn Ka'b. She said that she heard the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) mention that he saw his Lord in a dream in the form of a young man with abundant hair, dressed in green, lying on a golden bed, with golden sandals on His feet.
Abu Muhammad commented: We did not mention the interpretation of those who interpreted this hadith because we considered it correct, but rather, we mentioned it to show that there are those who have interpreted it and used these two hadiths as evidence.

286 - Muhammad ibn Isma’il al-Farisi narrated to us, saying: Abu Zur’ah al-Dimashqi narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Salih narrated to us, saying: Ibn Wahb narrated to me, saying: ‘Amr ibn al-Harith informed me that Sa’id ibn Abi Hilal informed him that Marwan ibn ‘Uthman informed him from ‘Umara ibn ‘Amir, from Umm al-Tufayl, the wife of Ubayy ibn Ka'b, that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) mention that he saw his Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, in a dream in the form of a young man with abundant hair, His feet in green, wearing golden sandals, and with a golden veil on His face.
Abu Zur’ah said: All these men are known, and they have strong genealogies in Madinah. As for Marwan ibn ‘Uthman, he is Marwan ibn ‘Uthman ibn Abi Sa’id al-Mu'alla al-Ansari. As for ‘Umara, he is the son of ‘Amir ibn ‘Umar ibn Hazm, a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). There is no doubt regarding ‘Amr ibn al-Harith or Sa’id ibn Abi Hilal. And suffice it to say that Abdullah ibn Wahb is a reliable transmitter in his religion and virtue.

She heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) mention that he saw his Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, in the most beautiful form—a young man, richly adorned, with his feet in verdant greenery, wearing golden sandals, and over his face was a veil of gold.

[Selected portion of the text for key evidences]
144 – It is reported that al-Tabarani said: "The hadith of Qatadah from ‘Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas regarding the vision of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) is authentic. Whoever claims that I retracted this narration after having narrated it is lying…."
145 – And Muhammad ibn Ubaydullah al-Ansari said: I heard Abu al-Hasan Ubaydullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ma’dan say: I heard Sulayman ibn Ahmad say: I heard Ibn Sadaqah, the Hafidh, say: “Whoever does not believe in the hadith of ‘Ikrimah is a heretic (zindiq).”
146 – And Muhammad ibn Sulayman said: I heard Bundar ibn Abi Ishaq say: I heard Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Iban say: I heard al-Baradh'i say: I heard Abu Zur’ah al-Razi say: “Whoever denies the hadith of Qatadah from ‘Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas, in which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, ‘I saw my Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He,’ is a Mu'tazilite.”
From al-Bayhaqi’s al-Asma wa al-Sifat, Chapter on Allah’s statement: {Then he drew near and came down, until he was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer} (53:8-9):
Narrated by Abu Sa’d Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Malini, who narrated from Abu Ahmad ibn ’Adi al-Hafiz, who narrated from al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali ibn ‘Asim, who narrated from Ibrahim ibn Abi Suwayd al-Dhira’, who narrated from Hammad ibn Salama. And narrated by Abu Sa’d al-Malini, from Abu Ahmad ibn ‘Adi al-Hafiz, who narrated to me from al-Hasan ibn Sufyan, who narrated from Muhammad ibn Rafi’, who narrated from Aswad ibn ’Amir, who narrated from Hammad ibn Salama, from Qatadah, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, “I saw my Lord as a young man with curly hair, wearing a green cloak.”
Abu Ahmad also narrated from Ibn Abi Sufyan al-Mawsili and Ibn Shahriyar, who both narrated from Muhammad ibn Ruzqullah ibn Musa, who narrated from Aswad ibn ’Amir, with the same chain, except that he said, “in the form of a young man with no beard and curly hair.” Ali ibn Shahriyar added: “He wore a green cloak.” Al-Nadr ibn Salamah narrated from Aswad ibn ’Amir, with the same chain, that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) saw his Lord in the form of a young man with no beard, veiled by a curtain of pearls, with His feet—or he said, His legs—in green.
From al-Bayhaqi’s al-Asma wa al-Sifat, Chapter on Allah’s statement: {Then he drew near and came down, until he was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer} (53:8-9):
Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, saying: Ishaq ibn al-Hasan al-Harbi narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn ‘Isa al-Misri narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to me, saying: Amr ibn al-Harith al-Ansari informed me, from Sa’id ibn Abi Hilal, from Marwan ibn ’Uthman, from ’Umara ibn ‘Amir, from Umm al-Tufayl—the wife of Ubayy ibn Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him)—who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) mention that he saw his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, in a dream in the form of a young man with abundant hair, in green garments, on a golden bed, with golden sandals on His feet. The term “abundant” means with thick hair, and “in green” refers to green garments. This is similar to what was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), and it is an account of a dream he saw. Scholars say that visions in dreams can be symbolic, where Allah makes it a sign for the dreamer regarding a past or future matter, in the manner of symbolic interpretation.
From Ibn Abi ‘Asim’s Al-Sunnah, Chapter on the Hadith: “I saw my Lord in the best form in a dream”:
Narrated to us by Isma’il ibn ‘Abdullah, who narrated to us from Nu’aym ibn Hammad and Yahya ibn Sulayman, who both said: Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us from ‘Amr ibn al-Harith, from Sa’id ibn Abi Hilal, who narrated to him that Marwan ibn ’Uthman narrated to him from ’Umara ibn ‘Amir, from Umm al-Tufayl, the wife of Ubayy ibn Ka’b, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: “I saw my Lord in the best form in a dream,” and he mentioned some words.
