Narrations claiming that Allah (swt) has a house in which He resides, God forbid

Hadith No: 1

From Anas, from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) who said,... and I will ask my Lord's permission to enter His House and then I will be permitted. When I see Him I will fall down in prostration before Him, and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He will, and then He will say, 'O Muhammad, lift up your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask (for anything) for it will be granted:' Then I will raise my head and glorify my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me. Allah will put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people) I will take them out and make them enter Paradise."

..and then I will return and ask my Lord for permission to enter His House and I will be permitted. When I will see Him I will fall down in prostration before Him and He will leave me in prostration as long as He will let me (in that state), and then He will say, 'O Muhammad, raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask, your request will be granted.' " The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) added, "So I will raise my head and glorify and praise Him as He has taught me. Then I will intercede and He will put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people). I will take them out and let them enter Paradise."

...and I will return for the third time and will ask my Lord for permission to enter His house, and I will be allowed to enter. When I see Him, I will fall down in prostration before Him, and will remain in prostration as long as He will, and then He will say, 'Raise your head, O Muhammad, and speak, for you will be listened to, and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask, for your request will be granted.' So I will raise my head and praise Allah as He has taught me and then I will intercede and He will put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people). I will take them out and let them enter Paradise."

Ahmad ibn Hanbal - Musnad al-Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal

Remaining Musnad of Frequent Narrators - Musnad of Anas ibn Malik

13150 - Affan narrated to us; Hammad narrated to us; Qatadah narrated from Anas ibn Malik: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: The believers will be detained on the Day of Resurrection, and they will be distressed by it, and they will say: If only we could seek intercession with our Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, to relieve us from this position. So they will come to Adam and say: You are our father; Allah created you with His hand, made the angels prostrate to you, and taught you the names of everything, so intercede with your Lord for us. He will say: I am not fit for that and will remember his sin, which was eating from the tree despite being forbidden, but go to Noah, the first prophet Allah sent to the people of the earth. So they will go to Noah, and he will say: I am not fit for that and will recall his sin of asking Allah, Mighty and Majestic be He, without knowledge, but go to Ibrahim, the friend of Allah, Mighty and Majestic be He. So they will come to Ibrahim, and he will say: I am not fit for that and will remember his sin, which was the three false statements he made: his saying (Indeed, I am ill) (As-Saffat: 89), and his saying (Rather, this, the largest of them, did it) (Al-Anbiya: 63), and his encounter with an arrogant tyrant with his wife when he said: Tell him that I am your brother; I am telling him you are my sister. But go to Musa, a servant whom Allah spoke to directly and gave the Torah. So they will come to Musa, and he will say: I am not fit for that and will remember his sin of killing a man, but go to Isa, the servant of Allah and His Messenger, His Word and His Spirit. So they will come to Isa, and he will say: I am not fit for that, but go to Muhammad, the servant of Allah and His Messenger, whose past and future sins Allah has forgiven. He said: Then they will come to me, and I will seek permission to enter upon my Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, in His abode, and permission will be granted to me. When I see Him, I will fall in prostration, and He will let me remain as long as He wills, then He will say: Raise your head, O Muhammad, speak and you will be heard, intercede and you will be granted intercession, ask and you will be given. He said: So I will raise my head and praise my Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, with praises He teaches me, then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will bring them out and enter them into Paradise. And I heard him say: So I will bring them out of the Fire and enter them into Paradise. Then I will seek permission to enter upon my Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, a second time, and permission will be granted to me. When I see Him, I will fall in prostration, and He will let me remain as long as He wills, then He will say: Raise your head, Muhammad, speak and you will be heard, intercede and you will be granted intercession, ask and you will be given. He said: So I will raise my head and praise my Lord with praises He teaches me, then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will bring them out and enter them into Paradise. Hammad said: And I also heard him say: So I will bring them out of the Fire and enter them into Paradise. He said: Then I will seek permission to enter upon my Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, a third time, and when I see my Lord, I will fall in prostration, and He will let me remain as long as He wills, then He will say: Raise your head, Muhammad, speak and you will be heard, intercede and you will be granted intercession, ask and you will be given. So I will raise my head and praise my Lord with praises He teaches me, then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will bring them out and enter them into Paradise. Hammad said: And I heard him say: So I will bring them out of the Fire and enter them into Paradise, and none will remain in the Fire except those detained by the Quran, meaning those upon whom eternity is incumbent. Then Qatadah recited: (It may be that your Lord will raise you to a praised station) (Al-Isra: 79), he said: It is the praised station that Allah, Mighty and Majestic be He, promised His Prophet (peace be upon him).

Ibn Abi Asim - Al-Sunnah - Chapter

Volume: (2) - Page Number: (373)

804 - Hudbah ibn Khalid narrated to us; Hammad narrated to us; Qatadah narrated from Anas ibn Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: The believers will gather on the Day of Resurrection, and they will feel the distress of that moment, and they will say: If only we could seek intercession with our Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, to relieve us from this standing. So they will go to Adam (peace be upon him) and say: You are our father; Allah created you with His hand, made the angels prostrate to you, and taught you the names of everything, so intercede with your Lord for us to relieve us from this standing. He will say: I am not fit for that and will remember his sin that he committed by eating from the tree when Allah had forbidden him from it. Then he will say: Go to Noah (peace be upon him), for he was the first prophet Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, sent. So they will go to Noah, and he will say: I am not fit for that and will recall his sin of asking his Lord without knowledge. But go to Ibrahim, the friend of the Merciful. Ibrahim will say: I am not fit for that and will remember his sin in saying, "Indeed, I am ill," and in saying, (Rather, this, the largest of them, did it) (Al-Anbiya: 63), and his saying to the king regarding his wife: Say that I am your brother. He will say: Go to Musa, a servant to whom Allah gave the Torah and with whom He spoke. So they will go to Musa (peace be upon him), and he will say: I am not fit for that and will recall his sin of killing a man. This is the praised station that Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, promised him: (It may be that your Lord will raise you to a praised station) (Al-Isra: 79). Qatadah might have said: So I will bring them out of the Fire and enter them into Paradise.

Ibn Khuzaymah - Kitab al-Tawhid wa Ithbat Sifat al-Rabb, Mighty and Majestic be He

Chapter: Mention of the Explanation that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) Has Intercessions on the Day of Resurrection in a Single Position, One after Another

Volume: (2) - Page Number: (605)

- Abu al-Ash'ath Ahmad ibn al-Muqaddam al-Ajli narrated to us; al-Mu'tamir narrated to us; I heard my father say; Qatadah narrated to us from Anas – Ahmad said to us on the second journey – from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) who said: The believers will come to Adam on the Day of Resurrection and will say: Allah made the angels prostrate to you, so intercede for us with Allah to relieve us from this position. He will say: I am not for that, go to Noah. So they will go to Noah, and he will say: I am not for that, and they will continue until they are directed to Allah’s friend, Ibrahim. They will come to Ibrahim, and he will say: I am not for that, go to Isa, for he is Allah’s Spirit and His Word. They will come to Isa, and he will say: I am not for that, go to Muhammad (peace be upon him), for Allah has forgiven his past and future sins. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Then they will come to me, so I will go to my Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, in His abode, and seek permission, and permission will be granted to me. When I see my Lord – Ahmad said to us – he said: and when I look upon my Lord, I will fall in prostration before Him. He will let me remain as long as He wills, and it will be said, or He will say: Raise your head, Muhammad; speak, and you will be heard; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted. I will then praise my Lord with praises He teaches me, then intercede, and He will set a limit for me, so I will bring them out and enter them into Paradise. Then I will return to my Lord, and when I see my Lord, I will fall in prostration before Him. He will let me remain as long as He wills, and He will say, or it will be said: Raise your head, Muhammad; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted. So I will praise my Lord with praises He teaches me, then intercede, and He will set a limit for me, so I will bring them out and enter them into Paradise. Then I will return to my Lord a third time, and when I see my Lord, I will fall in prostration before Him. He will let me remain as long as He wills, and He will say, or it will be said: Raise your head, Muhammad; speak, and you will be heard; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted. So I will praise my Lord with praises He teaches me, then intercede, and He will set a limit for me, so I will bring them out and enter them into Paradise, until I say to my Lord: None remains in the Fire except those detained by the Quran. Ahmad told us once, or as he said: Ahmad narrated to us; Khalid ibn al-Harith narrated to us; Sa’id narrated to us from Qatadah from Anas from the Prophet (peace be upon him) similarly.

Al-Bayhaqi - Al-Asma wa al-Sifat - Chapter on the Saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic be He:

(Then He drew near and came close @ Till He was two bow-lengths or nearer) (An-Najm: 8-9)

Volume: (2) - Page Number: (359)

931 - Abu Sulayman said: And there is another phrase in the story of intercession narrated by Qatadah from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): So they will come to me—meaning the people of the gathering—and ask me for intercession, and I will seek permission to enter upon my Lord in His abode, and permission will be granted to me.

932 - Abu Abdullah al-Hafidh informed us; Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Sakhtawayh narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Ayyub narrated to us; Hudbah ibn Khalid narrated to us; Hammad narrated to us; Qatadah narrated to us from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). Al-Bukhari said: Hajjaj ibn Minhal also narrated to us; Hammad ibn Yahya narrated it as well. Abu Sulayman said: The meaning of his saying and I will seek permission to enter upon my Lord in His abode, and permission will be granted to me is in His abode, where the dwellings are for His close ones, meaning Paradise, as in His saying, Mighty and Majestic: (For them is the home of peace with their Lord) (Al-An’am: 127), and His saying: (And Allah invites to the home of peace) (Yunus: 25), and as is said: the House of Allah, the Sanctuary of Allah, meaning the House that Allah has made a place of return for the people, and the Sanctuary that He made a place of safety. Similarly, "the Spirit of Allah" as an expression of His favor over other spirits, and that is only in the structure of language, as in His saying, Glorified and Exalted be He: (Indeed, your Messenger, who has been sent to you, is mad) (Ash-Shu’ara: 27), associating the messenger with them, while he is indeed the Messenger of Allah, sent to them.
