Narrations attributing uvulas and molars (teeth) to Allah (swt), God forbid

Hadith No: 1

Al-Tabari - Tafsir al-Tabari = Jami' al-Bayan fi Ta'wil Ay al-Quran - Surah Maryam: 71

Concerning the interpretation of Allah's statement: (There is none of you but will pass over it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed.)

Volume: (15) - Page: (604)

Ahmad ibn Isa narrated to me, he said: Sa'id ibn Kathir ibn 'Ufair narrated to us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us from Abu al-Zubayr who said: I asked Jabir ibn Abdullah about the crossing. He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: 'It is entering; they will enter the Fire until they are brought out from it. The last one remaining will be a man on the bridge who crawls, and Allah raises for him a tree.' He says: 'O Lord, bring me closer to it.' Allah, Blessed and Exalted, brings him closer to it. Then he says: 'O Lord, admit me into Paradise.' He says: 'Ask.' So he asks, and He says: 'That is for you and ten times its like, or something similar.' He says: 'O Lord, are You mocking me?' Then He laughs until His gums and teeth become visible.

Al-Daraqutni - Ru'yat Allah - Mention of the narration from Jabir ibn Abdullah on the authority of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

Volume: (1) - Page: (163)

50 - Abu Bakr al-Naysaburi narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to me, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: Ruh narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj informed me that Abu al-Zubayr heard Jabir being asked about the crossing. He said: “On the Day of Resurrection, we will be on such and such [elevated]—look, above the people.” He said: “Then the nations are called forth with their idols and what they worshipped, each in succession. Then our Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He, comes to us afterward and says, 'Whom do you await?' We say, 'We await our Lord, Mighty and Majestic be He.' He says, 'I am your Lord.' They say, 'Until we look upon You.' Then He, Blessed and Exalted, reveals Himself to them, laughing—I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: until His gums and teeth become visible. He then proceeds with them, and they follow Him, and every person, whether hypocrite or believer, is given light. Then they follow Him across the bridge of Hell, upon which there are hooks and thorns that catch whomever Allah wills. Then the light of the hypocrites is extinguished, and the believers are saved. The first group saved will have faces like the full moon, seventy thousand who are not held to account. Then those who follow them will have faces like the shining of a star in the sky, and so on. Then intercession is granted until those who said 'There is no god but Allah' and had in their hearts goodness of the weight of a grain are taken out from the Fire. They are placed near the gates of Paradise, and the people of Paradise sprinkle water over them until they sprout as vegetation sprouts in the flood. Then they are asked until they are given the world and ten times its like.”

Ibn Mandah - Al-Iman - Mention of the Obligation of Belief in the Vision of Allah, Mighty and Majestic be He

Volume: (2) - Page Number: (823)

850 - … Ali ibn Muhammad narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Na’eem narrated to us: Ishaq ibn Mansur narrated to us: Ruh narrated similarly and said: He will appear to them, smiling. And I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: until his uvula and teeth become visible. He did not mention who preceded this, and he said: We will be on such and such on the Day of Resurrection, authentic.

Ibn al-Jawzi - Daf’ Shubah al-Tashbih bi-Akuff al-Tanzih

Volume: (1) - Page Number: (180 > 182)

- And the meaning of: “I laughed because my Lord laughed: I revealed my teeth by opening my mouth” is to show His grace and generosity. And the saying of another: “We will never lack good from a Lord who laughs” means that He dispels distress; this is distinct from bodies that cannot be expected to bring good. I said: This is the interpretation of a group of scholars.

- Al-Khattabi said: The meaning of the laughter of the Compeller, Mighty and Majestic be He (is intended to signify) satisfaction and good recompense. It has been narrated in a report attributed (to the Prophet) that He laughed until His uvula and teeth became visible, as mentioned by al-Khallal in Kitab al-Sunnah.

- Al-Marwazi said: I said to Abu Abd Allah - Ahmad ibn Hanbal: What do you say regarding this hadith? He said, “This is unsightly.” He said: “Then, assuming its authenticity, it holds two possibilities: one is that it pertains to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), as if he laughed when informed of the laughter of the Lord until his uvula and teeth became visible (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), as it is narrated that he laughed until his molars became visible. This is correct if the hadith is established, but it is disconnected.”
