3949 - Abu ‘Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us: Abu Bakr bin Ishaq narrated to us: Bishr bin Musa narrated to us, saying: Al-Humaydi narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, saying: ‘Abdah bin Abi Lubabah and ‘Asim bin Bahdalah both heard Zir bin Hubaysh say: “I asked Ubayy bin Ka‘b about the two protecting surahs and said, ‘O Abu al-Mundhir, your brother Ibn Mas‘ud removes them from the Mushaf.’” He replied: “I asked the Messenger of Allah (S), and he said, ‘I was told, and I said.’ So we say as the Messenger of Allah (S) said.” Narrated by al-Bukhari in the Sahih from Qutaybah and ‘Ali bin ‘Abdullah from Sufyan.

5371 - Abu ‘Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us, saying: Abu al-‘Abbas Muhammad bin Ya‘qub narrated to us, saying: Ahmad bin Shayban narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, who said: “I never heard ‘Umar bin al-Khattab recite it except as ‘Then proceed to the remembrance of Allah.’”
13045 - Abu Nasr ibn Qatadah informed us, Abu Mansoor al-Nadrawi informed, Ahmad ibn Najda narrated, Saeed ibn Mansoor narrated, Sufyan from Amr from Bajalah or other than him narrated: he said: Umar ibn Khattab (la) passed by a boy while he was reciting the Quran: The Prophet has a greater claim on the faithful than they have on themselves, and his wives are (as) their mothers; (al-Ahzab: 6) while he is their father, then he said: O boy rub it, he said, this is a copy of my father, go to him and ask him, then he said: he was distracting me from the Quran and he distracted you by clapping in the market.
