4735 - Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Isa ibn al-Sukan narrated to us, saying: Al-Harith ibn Mansur narrated to us, saying: Israel narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Jari ibn Kulayb al-Amiri, who said: When Ali marched to Siffin, I disliked fighting, so I went to Madinah and entered upon Maymunah bint al-Harith. She said: "Who are you from?" I replied: "I am from the people of Kufa." She asked: "From which group?" I said: "From the Banu Amir." She said: "Welcome upon welcome and closeness upon closeness! You come for what brought you here?"
I said: "Ali marched to Siffin, and I disliked fighting, so we came here." She asked: "Did you pledge allegiance to him?" I replied: "Yes." She said: "Then return to him and be with him, for by Allah, he will not go astray, nor will you go astray with him." This is a sound hadith according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.
