The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "There will be division and اختلاف (ikhtilaaf) among the people, and this man and his companions will be upon the truth." Ka'b said: So I pursued him and looked at him until I recognized him. We used to ask Ka'b: "Who is the man?" but he would refuse to tell us until Ka'b went out with Ali to Kufa and remained there until he died. Thus, we came to know that the man was Ali (peace be upon him).
