- Abu al-Muzafar al-Qushayri narrated to us, saying: Abu Sa'd narrated to me, saying: Ibn Hamdan narrated to me, and Umm al-Muhtaba narrated to us, saying: It was read to Ibrahim al-Sulami, who said: Abu Bakr narrated to us, both saying: Abi Ya'la narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abbas al-Makki narrated to us, Abu Sa'id narrated to us, and Ibn Hamdan said: Sidqah ibn al-Rubay' narrated to us, from Imarah ibn Ghaziyyah, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'id, from his father, who said: I was there, and Ibn Hamdan said: We were at the house of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) with a group of migrants and helpers when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), supported by Abu Bakr, came out and said, "Shall I not inform you of the best among you?" They said, "Indeed!" He replied, "The best among you are those who are faithful and fragrant. Indeed, Allah loves the humble and the pious." - And Ali ibn Abi Talib passed by, and he said, "The truth is with this one, the truth is with this one."
- Abu Mansur ibn Zuraq narrated to us, and Abu al-Hasan ibn Sa'id and I were present, saying: Abu Bakr al-Khatib narrated to us, and al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abdullah al-Muqri narrated to me, saying: Ahmad ibn al-Faraj ibn Mansur al-Warraq narrated to us, Yusuf ibn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Katib narrated to us in the year 328, saying: al-Hasan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Siraj narrated to us, Abd al-Salam ibn Salih narrated to us, Ali ibn Hashim ibn al-Barid narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Sa'id al-Tamimi, from Abu Thabit, the freedman of Ubaydhar, who said: I entered upon Umm Salamah and saw her weeping and mentioning Ali, and she said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say, 'Ali is with the truth, and the truth is with Ali, and they will not separate until they return to me at the cistern on the Day of Resurrection.'"
