- .... As for Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, he is a man who is reported by both the special and the general to have said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say about Ali: "Whoever I am his Mawla, Ali is his Mawla. O Allah, be an ally to whoever is an ally to him, and be an enemy to whoever is an enemy to him. Support those who support him and forsake those who forsake him." And he also said:
"I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: 'Ali is with the truth, and the truth is with Ali. They will be together wherever he goes, and they will not be separated until they both return to me at the Pond.'"
