11364 - Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, who said: Fitr narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Rija' al-Zubaidi, from his father, who said: I heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say: We were sitting, waiting for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he came out to us from one of his wives' houses and
we stood up with him, and his sandal broke, so Ali stayed behind to mend it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) went on, and we followed him, then he stopped to wait for him, and we waited with him.
He said: "Among you is one who will fight on the interpretation of this Quran just as I fought on its revelation." We leaned forward, and among us were Abu Bakr and Umar, and he said, "No,
but it is the one mending the sandal." So we went to give him the news, and it was as if he had already heard it.
