8332 - Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, who said: I heard Habbah al-Armani say: I heard Ali say: "I am the first to pray with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)."

And he said in another place: "Ali embraced Islam."

8338 - Ahmad ibn Suleiman narrated to us, saying: Ubaydullah ibn Musa narrated to us, saying: al-Ala ibn Salih narrated to us, from al-Manhal ibn Amr from Ubad ibn Abdullah, who said: Ali said: "I am Abdullah and the brother of His Messenger (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and I am the greatest truthful one. No one will say this after me except a liar." I prayed before the people for seven years.
