14605 - And from O'affi al-Kindi who said: I was a man who dealt in trade, and I came to Mecca to buy some goods. I went to Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib to purchase some trade from him, as he was a man of commerce. He said: By Allah, I was with him in Mina when a man came out of a tent nearby. He looked up at the sky, and when he saw it tilt, he stood up to pray. Then a woman came out of that tent from which the man had emerged and stood behind him to pray. After that, a boy who had just reached the age of puberty came out of that tent and stood to pray with him. He said: So I said to Abbas, "O Abbas, what is this?" He said: "This is Muhammad, the son of my brother, Abdullah ibn Abdul Muttalib." He continued: I asked, "Who is this woman?" He replied: "This is his wife, Khadijah bint Khuwailid."
Then I asked, "Who is this young man?" He said: "This is Ali ibn Abi Talib, his cousin." I asked, "What is this that they are doing?" He said: "They are praying." And he claims to be a prophet, and none follows him in his matter except for his wife and this young cousin of his, and he claims that the treasures of Kisra and Caesar will be opened to him." O'affi, who was the cousin of al-Ash'ath ibn Qais, would say, and he accepted Islam later, and his Islam was commendable: "If only Allah had granted me Islam on that day, so I could be the second with Ali ibn Abi Talib." Ahmad and Abu Ya'la narrated something similar, and al-Tabarani narrated it with chains of narration, and the men of Ahmad are trustworthy. I say, and the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud will also come in the virtues of Khadijah.
