Ibn Abi Asim - Al-Awa'il
The first of this ummah to arrive at its Prophet will be the first to embrace Islam, Ali ibn Abi Talib.

68 - Abu Bakr narrated to us, saying: Shababah narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Habbah from Ali, who said: "I am the first man to pray with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)."

69 - Abu Bakr narrated to us, saying: Muawiya ibn Hisham narrated to us, from Qais, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Abu Sadiq, from Aliyim al-Kindi from Salman, who said: "Indeed, the first of this ummah to meet its Prophet will be the first to embrace Islam, Ali ibn Abi Talib."

He said: I have married you to the foremost of my Ummah in submission, the greatest in forbearance, and the most knowledgeable.
