4732 - Ahmad ibn Sahl, the jurist in Bukhara, narrated to us: Sahl ibn al-Mutawakkil narrated to us: Ahmad ibn Yunus narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Abu Hayyan al-Taimi, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr from Ibn Abbas (ra) who said:The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to Ali: "Verily, you will face great challenges after me." Ali asked: "Will it be in the safety of my faith?" The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied: "In the safety of your faith." This is a authentic hadith according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and they did not record it.

32117 - Abu Usamah narrated to us, who said: Muhammad ibn Talhah narrated to me from Ubaydah ibn al-Hakam al-Azdii, who reports his narration as being raised to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to Ali: "You will encounter hardship after me." Ali asked, "O Messenger of Allah, will it be with the safety of my religion?" The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied, "Yes, with the safety of your religion."

Abu Ya'la and al-Hakim narrated and he (al-Hakim) affirmed its authenticity from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to Ali: "Indeed, you will encounter difficulties after me." He asked, "Will it be in the safety of my religion?" The Prophet replied, "Yes."
