Volume: (1) - Page Number: (93)
357 - Sulayman ibn Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn Abd al-Aziz narrated to us, saying: Amr ibn Hammad ibn Talhah al-Qannad narrated to us, saying: Asbat ibn Nasr narrated to us, from Samak ibn Harb, from Ikrimah
from Ibn Abbas that Ali used to say during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (sa): "Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic be He, says: {So if he were to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels?"} (Surah Al-Imran 3:144)
And by Allah, we will not turn back on our heels after Allah has guided us. And by Allah, by Allah, even if he dies or is killed, I will certainly fight for what he fought for until I die." And by Allah, I am indeed his brother, his heir, and the son of his uncle, and who is more deserving of him than me.
