Surely from among the covenants the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) made to me was that the Ummah will certainly cheat me

4731 - Abu Hafs Umar ibn Ahmad al-Jumahi narrated to us in Mecca, saying: Ali ibn Abdul Aziz narrated to us, saying: Amr ibn Aun narrated to us, from Hisham, from Ismail ibn Salim, from Abu Idrees al-Awdi from Ali (a) who said:"Indeed, among what the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) entrusted to me is that the Ummah will betray me after him." This is a hadith with a sound chain of narration, and they did not include it in their collections.

Whoever loves you loves me, and whoever despises you despises me. And indeed, this (referring to his beard) will be stained with that (from his head). This is a genuine hadith.

Al-Bukhari said: Tha'laba ibn Yazid al-Hamani's narrations contain some scrutiny.

Al-Bayhaqi said: And we have narrated it with another chain from Ali, if it is reliable: Abu Ali al-Ruzdani narrated to us, stating that Abu Muhammad ibn Shu'zub al-Wasiti mentioned it to us, saying: Shu'ayb ibn Ayyub narrated to us, Amr ibn Aun narrated to us, from Hisham, from Isma'il ibn Salim, from Abu Idris al-Azdi, from Ali, who said: "One of the things the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) entrusted to me was that the Ummah will betray you after me." 31562 - Ali reported that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to me: 'It is a trusted covenant that the ummah will betray you after me,' and you will live on my religion and be killed for my tradition. Whoever loves you loves me, and whoever harbors animosity towards you harbors animosity towards me. And indeed, this [hand] will be stained with blood from this [head]," indicating his beard from his head.

1391 - Tha'laba ibn Yazid al-Hamani: A police officer of Ali, an extremist Shia. Al-Bukhari said: "There is some concern regarding his narration." He narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to Ali: 'The Ummah will betray you.' Habib ibn Abi Thabit narrated from him, but this is not supported by others. Al-Nasa'i said: "He is trustworthy," and Ibn Adi stated: "I have not seen him narrate any hadith that is considered monstrous."

- Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi narrated to us, from Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Qadi, from Abu Ja'far ibn Dahhim, from Ahmad ibn Hazm ibn Abi Ghurzah, from Ubaydullah and Abu Na'im and Thabat ibn Muhammad, from Fitr ibn Khalaifa. And Ahmad ibn Hazm narrated to us, from Ubaydullah, from Abdulaziz ibn Siyah, both said together, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Thaalabah al-Hamani, who said: "I heard Ali on the pulpit saying: 'By Allah, this is the prophecy of the unlettered Prophet to me that the ummah will betray you after me.'"
