- Abu al-Qasim ibn al-Samarqandi narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Husayn ibn al-Naqur narrated to me, saying: Isa ibn Ali narrated to me, saying: Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us, stating: Ubaydullah ibn Umar al-Qawariri narrated to us, saying: Harmi ibn Imarah narrated to me, from al-Fadl ibn Umayra al-Qaysi, Abu Qutaybah, who said: Maymun al-Kurdi, Abu Nasir, narrated to me, from Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, from Ali ibn Abi Talib, who said: I was walking with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and we passed by a garden. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, how beautiful is this garden!" He replied, "How beautiful it is, and you have in Paradise one more beautiful than it." Then we came upon another garden, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, how beautiful it is!" He said, "You have in Paradise one more beautiful than it," until we passed by seven gardens. I would say, "O Messenger of Allah, how beautiful this is!" He would reply, "You have in Paradise one more beautiful than it." When the path was clear of others, he embraced me and then burst into tears. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what makes you weep?"
He said: "Resentments in the hearts of certain people that they will not reveal to you except after my time." I asked, "Will it be in safety concerning my religion?" He answered, "In safety concerning your religion."- Abu al-Hasan ibn Qubays narrated to us, as well as Abu Mansur ibn Khayrun, both saying: Abu Bakr al-Khatib narrated to me, saying: al-Hasan ibn Abi Bakr narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Baghawi, who said: Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Kathir al-Dawrqi, Abu al-Abbas, and Ahmad ibn Zuhayr both said: al-Fayd ibn Wathiq ibn Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Uthman ibn Abi al-As narrated to us, and Ahmad ibn Zuhayr said: "He arrived in our city in the year 224 AH." Al-Fadl ibn Umayra narrated to me, from Maymun al-Kurdi, a freedman of Abdullah ibn Amir, Abu Nasir, from Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, from Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), who said: "I passed with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) by a garden, and I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, how beautiful it is!' He replied, 'You have in Paradise something better than it,' until we passed by seven gardens." Ahmad ibn Zuhayr said: "Or nine gardens." Each time, I would say to him, "How beautiful this is!" and he would respond, "You have something better in Paradise." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) pulled me close and cried. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what makes you weep?"
He said: 'Resentments in the hearts of men against you that they will not reveal to you except after my time.' I asked, 'Will it be in safety concerning my religion?' He replied, 'Yes, in safety concerning your religion.'"
