1488 - Ahmad ibn Yazid ibn Ibrahim, Abu al-Hasan al-Harani, said to me, Muhammad ibn Yusuf: Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Zuhair narrated to us, saying: Uthman al-Tawil narrated to us from Anas ibn Malik, who said: A bird that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) liked was gifted to him, and he said: O Allah, bring me Your most beloved creation to You to eat this bird. Then, one who was heard by him sought permission to enter, and he heard his words and said: Enter. It is not known that Uthman heard from Anas. Ishaq ibn Yusuf said from Abd al-Malik, who is the son of Abu Sulayman, from Anas, that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) witnessed this, but it is recorded as unlinked (marasi).

945 - Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Umar narrated to us, saying: Yunus ibn Arqam narrated to us, from Mutayr ibn Abi Khalid, from Thabit al-Bajali from Safinah, who said: A woman from the Ansar gifted the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) two birds between two loaves of bread, and she presented the two birds to him. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "O Allah, bring me Your most beloved creature to You and to Your Messenger." He raised his voice and said, "O Allah, bring me Your most beloved creature to You and to Your Messenger." Then he heard the sound of footsteps, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Who is this?" Someone replied, "It is Ali." He said: "Then open the door for him." So the door was opened, and he ate with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) from the two birds until they were finished.
