14723 - And from Anas ibn Malik who said: I used to serve the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he presented a roasted chick to me. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "O Allah, bring me the most beloved of Your creatures to You and to me who will eat with me from this chick." Then Ali came and knocked on the door. Anas said: Who is this? He replied: Ali. I said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) is in need, so he turned away. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) moved aside and ate. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "O Allah, bring me the most beloved of Your creatures to You and to me who will eat with me from this chick." Ali came and knocked on the door very hard. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) heard and said: "O Anas, who is this?" I replied: Ali. He said: "Admit him." So he entered, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "I have asked Allah three times to bring me the most beloved of His creatures to Him and to me to eat with me from this chick." Ali said: "And I, O Messenger of Allah, have come three times, all of which Anas denied me." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "O Anas, what made you do what you did?" He replied: "I wanted you to have the opportunity to fulfill the prayer with a man from my people." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "A man cannot be blamed for his love for his people."

14727 - Narrated from Safinah - who was a servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) - who said: Birds were presented to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and some of them were prepared for him. When he became morning, I brought them to him, and he said, "Where did you get this?" I replied, "From those that were presented to you yesterday." He said, "Did I not tell you not to save food for tomorrow? Every day has its own provision." Then he said, "O Allah, let the one who is Your most beloved creation to me enter and eat with me from this bird." Then Ali (peace be upon him) entered and said, "O Allah, and me too." Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani narrated it with brevity, and the narrators of al-Tabarani are those of the authentic collection, except for Fitr ibn Khulayfah, who is trustworthy.

14728 - Ibn Abbas said: "A bird was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he said, 'O Allah, bring me the one You love most among Your creatures.'" Then Ali came. He said, "O Allah, and to me,'" Al-Tabarani narrated this, and in it is Muhammad ibn Sa'id, a shaykh from whom Sulayman ibn Qara narrates, and I do not know him, but the rest of his men are trustworthy, though there is weakness in it.
