- .... And Abu Ya'la said: My father narrated to us: Abu Hisham narrated to us: Ibn Fadail narrated to us: Muslim al-Malayi
narrated from Anas, who said:Um Aymangifteda roasted bird to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he said: "O Allah, bring me one who loves You to eat with me from this bird." Anas said: So Ali came and sought permission to enter, and I said, "He is busy with his need," so he returned, then came again and sought permission, and I said, "He is busy with his need," so he returned, then came again and sought permission. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) heard his voice and said: "Grant him permission," and he entered while it was placed between his hands, and he ate from it and praised Allah.
- .... Al-Qawari reported to us: Yunus ibn Arqam narrated to us: Mutir ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bajili, from Safina, the freedman of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), who said: A woman from the Ansar gifted two birds between two loaves, and there was no one in the house except me and Anas. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) came and asked for his food. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, a woman from the Ansar has gifted you a present." I presented the two birds to him.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "O Allah, send me Your most beloved creation to You and to Your Messenger." Then Ali ibn Abi Talib came, knocked on the door softly, and I said, "Who is this?" He replied, "Abu al-Hasan." Then he knocked on the door again and raised his voice. The Messenger of Allah said: "Who is this?" I answered: "Ali ibn Abi Talib." He said: "Open the door for him," so I opened it, and he ate with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) from the two birds until they were finished.
- .... And it was narrated from Ibn Abbas. Abu Muhammad Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Sa'id said: Ibrahim ibn Sa'id al-Jawhari narrated to us: Hussain ibn Muhammad narrated to us: Sulayman ibn Qarm narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb, from Dawud ibn Abdullah ibn Abbas, from his father
and his grandfather Ibn Abbas, who said:The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was presented with a bird and said: "O Allah, send me a man who loves You and Your Messenger." Then Ali came and he said: "O Allah, appoint him as a supporter."
