1937 - Abu Ya'la narrated to us, saying: Al-Husayn ibn Hammad al-Warraq narrated to us, saying: Mashhar ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Sal' (trustworthy) narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn al-Tayyib ibn al-Shuja' narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Hammad al-Dhabbi narrated to us, saying: Mashhar ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Sal' narrated to us, from Isa ibn Umar al-Qari, from Isma'il ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Suddi,
from Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was with him a bird, and he said, "O Allah, bring me Your most beloved creation to You to eat this bird with me." So a man came and he dismissed him. Then another man came and he dismissed him. Then Ali ibn Abi Talib came, and he granted him permission, and he ate with him." Al-Shaykh said: And this is from this chain; I do not know of anyone else who narrated it besides Mashhar, and Mashhar has other narrations that I mentioned, though they are not many.
