Abdullah ibn Adi - al-Kamil fi Duafa al-Rijal

630 - Al-Qasim al-Maqri and Ibn Sa'id said: Ibrahim ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Hussein ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn Qarm narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Shu'aib, from Dawud ibn Ali, from his father from Ibn Abbas: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was brought a bird and he said: "O Allah, bring me Your loved one who is most beloved to You, to eat with me from this bird." Then Ali came to him and ate with him. Ibn Adi said: And Muhammad ibn Shu'aib narrates this from Dawud, but I do not know this Muhammad ibn Shu'aib.

1937 - Abu Ya'la narrated to us, saying: Al-Husayn ibn Hammad al-Warraq narrated to us, saying: Mashhar ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Sal' (trustworthy) narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn al-Tayyib ibn al-Shuja' narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Hammad al-Dhabbi narrated to us, saying: Mashhar ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Sal' narrated to us, from Isa ibn Umar al-Qari, from Isma'il ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Suddi, from Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was with him a bird, and he said, "O Allah, bring me Your most beloved creation to You to eat this bird with me." So a man came and he dismissed him. Then another man came and he dismissed him. Then Ali ibn Abi Talib came, and he granted him permission, and he ate with him." Al-Shaykh said: And this is from this chain; I do not know of anyone else who narrated it besides Mashhar, and Mashhar has other narrations that I mentioned, though they are not many.

2183 - Muhammad ibn Abi Muqatil narrated to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Sadaqah al-Amiri al-Kufi narrated to us, from Yughnam ibn Salim ibn Qunbar, the freedman of Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: "A roasted bird was presented to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). He said, 'O Allah, send me the one You love most among YourCreation to eat with me from this bird,'" and the narration continues.
