1 - In Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal: With his chain of narration
from Safinah, the freed slave of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), who said: A woman from the Ansar gifted the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) two roasted birds and two loaves of bread. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: O Allah, bring me the one You love most among Your creatures and the one You love most among Your Messenger's creatures. Then Ali came, and he ate with him from the two birds until they were satisfied.2 - At-Tirmidhi
narrated from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: There was a bird with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he said: O Allah, bring me the one You love most among Your creatures to eat with me from this bird. Then Ali came and ate with him. This is a strange hadith.3 - Muwaffaq ibn Ahmad: With his chain of narration
from Dawud ibn Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) from his father, from his grandfather Abdullah ibn Abbas, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) had a roasted bird with him and said: O Allah, bring me the one You love most among Your creatures to eat with me. Then Ali ibn Abi Talib came and ate with him. Furthermore, Muwaffaq ibn Ahmad narrated the hadith of the bird via two routes from Anas, and twenty-four men narrated the hadith of the bird from Anas, including Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, al-Suddi, and Isma'il. Ibn al-Maghazili narrated the hadith of the bird from twenty different chains.
4 - And in Sunan Abi Dawud: With his chain of narration
from Anas, who said: There was a bird cooked with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he said: O Allah, bring me the one You love most among Your creatures to eat with me. Then Ali came and ate with him.
