Hadith No: 1
Al-Tabarani - al-Mu'jam al-Saghir - Chapter on the Letter Meem - Those Named Muhammad

1012 - Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Ash'ari al-Isbahani narrated to us, saying: Mujashi' ibn Amr narrated to us in Hamadan in the year 235 AH, with Isa ibn Suwadah al-Razi narrating to us, and Hilal ibn Abi Humayd al-Wazzan narrating from Abdullah ibn Ukaym al-Juhani, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Glorious be He, revealed to me three things about Ali on the night I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra): that he is the lord of the believers, the imam of the righteous, and the leader of those with luminous foreheads." None narrated this from Hilal except Isa, and Mujashi' was the only one to uniquely transmit it.

1468 - Ahmad narrated to us, who said: Ubaydullah ibn Yusuf al-Jubayri narrated to us, who said: Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Dhara narrated to us, who said: Khawqan ibn Abdullah ibn Ahtam narrated to us, who said: Humayd al-Tawil from Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Who is the master of the Arabs?" They said: "You, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "I am the master of the children of Adam, and Ali is the master of the Arabs." This hadith was not narrated from Humayd except by Khawqan, nor from Khawqan except by Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz. Ubaydullah al-Jubayri was unique in this narration.

2749 - Muhammad ibn Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Sini narrated to us, saying: Qais ibn al-Rubay' narrated to us from Luith from Abu Layla from al-Hasan ibn Ali (RA), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "O Anas, go and call me the Master of the Arabs," meaning Ali. Aisha (RA) then said, "Aren't you the Master of the Arabs?" He replied, "I am the Master of the Children of Adam, and Ali is the Master of the Arabs." When Ali (peace be upon him) came, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent for the Ansar, and they came to him. He said to them: "O group of Ansar, shall I not direct you to something that if you hold firmly to it, you will not go astray afterward?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "This is Ali, so love him for my sake and honor him for my honor, for Gabriel (peace be upon him) commanded me regarding what I told you from Allah, the Almighty."
