Hadith No: 1
Al-Lalakai - Sharh Usul I'tiqad Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah - Chapter on the Compilation of the Virtues of the Companions (r)
Context of what was narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) regarding the virtues of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him):

2644 - Mahdi ibn Muhammad al-Naysaburi said: Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Azhhar Ahmad ibn al-Azhhar narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, from Mu'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah from Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) looked at Ali ibn Abi Talib and said: "You are a leader (sayyid) in this world and a leader (sayyid) in the Hereafter. Whoever loves you loves me, and my beloved is the beloved of Allah. Whoever hates you hates me, and my enemy is the enemy of Allah. So woe to whoever hates you after me."

2813 - Abdullah ibn As'ad ibn Zurarah al-Ansari: He was the son of Abu Umamah As'ad ibn Zurarah. His lineage was mentioned earlier when his father's lineage was discussed, and both he and his father were companions. Yahya ibn Bakir narrated from Ja'far al-Ahmar from Hilal al-Sayrafi, who said: Abu Kathir al-Ansari narrated to us from Abdullah ibn As'ad ibn Zurarah, who said: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was taken on the Night Journey to the heavens, he was brought to a palace made of pearls, with a golden bed that shimmered. Then Allah revealed to him or commanded him regarding Ali with three traits: that he is the leader of the Muslims, the imam of the righteous, and the commander of those with shining foreheads."

- .... Al-Hafiz Abu Na'im narrated it in Hilyat al-Awliya' wa Tabaqat al-Asfiyاء, the eleventh report: "Welcome to the Master of the Believers and the Imam of the God-fearing." It was said to Ali (peace be upon him): "How will you thank [Allah]?" He replied: "I praise Allah for what He has granted me, and I ask Him for gratitude for what He has bestowed upon me, and to give me more of what He has given me." The owner of Hilya mentioned this as well.
