189 - Ahmad ibn Wahb al-Arshi and Abu Hamid al-Isbahani narrated to us, saying: Abu Zur'a Ubaydullah ibn Abd al-Karim narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Ja'far ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Ja'far ibn Abi Talib narrated to us. My uncle Musa ibn Ja'far narrated to us from Salih ibn Muawiya from his brother Abdullah ibn Muawiya from their father from Abdullah ibn Ja'far, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Ali is my foundation, and Ja'far is my branch," or "Ja'far is my foundation and Ali is my branch."
