885 - Narrated to us by Aswad ibn Amir, who said: Sharik narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Minhali, from Ubad ibn Abdullah al-Asadi, from Ali (r), who said: When this verse was revealed: {And warn your nearest relatives} (Surah ash-Shu'ara, 26:214), the Prophet (peace be upon him) gathered his family, and about thirty people assembled. They ate and drank. Then he said to them, "Who will guarantee my debt and my promises, be with me in Paradise, and be my successor among my family?" A man, whom Sharik did not name, said, "O Messenger of Allah, you were like an ocean; who can stand up to this?" Then another spoke. This was presented to his family. Ali (r) said, "I will."

17051 - Yahya ibn Adam and Ibn Abi Bakir narrated to us, saying: Israel narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Habashi ibn Junadah, Yahya ibn Adam al-Saluli said: and he had witnessed the Day of the Farewell Pilgrimage, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Ali is from me and I am from Ali, and none will convey my message except for me or Ali." And Ibn Abi Bakir said, "No one will settle my debts except for me or Ali" (ra). Al-Zubayri narrated to us, saying: Israel narrated to us similarly, and he narrated to us, meaning Al-Zubayri, that Sharik narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Habashi ibn Junadah, similar to this. I said to Abu Ishaq, "Did you hear this directly from him?" He replied, "He came to us on a horse in our gathering in the cemetery of al-Suba'."

1010 - Abdullah narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me, from Yahya ibn Abi Bakir and Ibn Adam, meaning Yahya, who both said: Israel narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Habashi ibn Junadah. Ibn Adam al-Saluli said he had witnessed the Farewell Pilgrimage. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Ali is from me, and I am from him," and "No one will fulfill my religion except me or Ali." Ibn Adam added: "And none will convey my message except me or Ali."

And among the virtues of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) from the hadith of Abu Bakr ibn Malik from his teachers, except for Abd Allah

1052 - Al-Haytham ibn Khalaf narrated to us, who said: Muhammad ibn Abi Umar al-Duri narrated to us, who said: Shadhdan narrated to us, who said: Ja'far ibn Ziyad narrated to us, from Matar, from Anas, meaning Ibn Malik, who said: We said to Salman, "Ask the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) about his successor." So Salman said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, who is your successor?" He said, "O Salman, who was the successor of Moses?" He replied, "Joshua ibn Nun." He continued, "So my successor and inheritor, who will settle my debts and fulfill my promise, is Ali ibn Abi Talib."

And among the virtues of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) from the narrations of Abu Bakr ibn Malik, narrated from his teachers, except for Abdullah.

1108 - Abdullah narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Abd al-Hamid al-Hamani narrated to us, saying: Sharik narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Minhali ibn Amr, from Ubad ibn Abd Allah, from Ali; and Abdullah ibn Abd Allah narrated to us, from Abu Khaythamah, who said: Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, who said: Sharik narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Minhali ibn Amr, from Amr, from Ubad ibn Abd Allah al-Asadi, from Ali, who said: When Allah, the Exalted, revealed: {And warn your nearest relatives} (Surah al-Shu'ara, 26:214), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called men from his family, and there were some among them who would be eating a small goat, and some who would be drinking from a cup. He presented to them a man, and they ate until they were full. Then he said to them: "Who will guarantee my religion and my promises for me, be with me in paradise, and be my successor among my family?" He offered this to the men of his family, and Ali said: "I will." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied: "Ali will settle my debts and fulfill my promises." And the wording of the hadith differs with al-Hamani, and some of it is similar to the hadith of Abu Khaythamah.

And among the virtues of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) from the hadith of Abu Bakr ibn Malik narrated from his teachers, except for Abdullah.

1196 - Abdullah narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, from Sharik, from al-A'mash, from al-Manhal, from Ibad ibn Abdullah al-Asadi from Ali, who said: When this verse was revealed, {And warn your nearest kin} (Surah Ash-Shu'ara, 26:214), the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) gathered his family members, and thirty of them gathered. They ate and drank. He said to them: "Who will bear my debt and my promises, be with me in Paradise, and be my successor in my family?" A man whose name was not mentioned said: "O Messenger of Allah, you were like a sea; who could fulfill this?" Then he spoke to another. He then offered this to the members of his household. Ali said: "I will."
