- Abu al-Qasim Ali ibn Ibrahim and Abu al-Hasan ibn Sa'id both said: Abu Mansur ibn Zuraq narrated to us, as did Abu Bakr al-Khatib, as did Ubaydullah ibn Abi al-Fath and Ali ibn Abi Ali, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Muthaffar al-Hafiz narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Ja'far al-Thalabi narrated to me, and Ali Abu al-Qala narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Mansur al-Tusi narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Kathir al-Kufi narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Udi ibn Thabit, from Zur, from Abdullah from Ali, who said: Ali narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever does not say that Ali is the best of people has disbelieved." Muhammad ibn Kathir is weak.
- Abu Muhammad ibn al-Akfani informed us, reading to me, and I, Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ahmad ibn Pasra, and Tamam ibn Muhammad, and Khaythama ibn Sulayman, all narrated from Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Sulayman ibn Harara al-Nahmi, who said: al-Hasan ibn Sa'id al-Nakha'i, cousin of Sharik, narrated to us: Sharik ibn Abdillah, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Wa'il, Shaqiq ibn Sulayman, from Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Ali is the best of humans. Whoever refuses this has disbelieved." Thus, al-Hasan ibn Sa'id said, but it should be al-Harr.
- Abu al-Qasim al-Wasiti informed us: Abu Bakr al-Khatib narrated to us: al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Khalal narrated to us: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Imran narrated to us: Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqir al-Hamdani, in Kufa, narrated to us: Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn al-Abbas al-Maqri, a client of the Banu Hashim, said: I said to al-Harr ibn Sa'id al-Nakha'i, "Did Sharik ibn Abdillah narrate to you from Abu Ishaq al-Sabi'i, from Shaqiq ibn Sulayman from Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman, saying, 'I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say, "Ali is the best of humans. Whoever refuses this has disbelieved'?"" He replied, "Yes."
- Sharik ibn Abdillah narrated to us, and al-Khatib said: No one narrated this hadith from Sharik except al-Harr ibn Sa'id, and this is a narration that al-Harr uniquely attributes with an elevated chain, while the preserved account from Sharik is his statement: Abu al-Qasim ibn al-Samarqandi narrated to us: Abu al-Qasim ibn Mus'adah narrated to us: Hamza ibn Yusuf narrated to us: Abu Ahmad narrated to us: al-Saji narrated to me that Abdullah ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan al-Ashqar said: I heard Abu Dawud al-Dahhan say: "I heard Sharik ibn Abdillah say, 'Ali is the best of humans. Whoever refuses this has disbelieved.'"
