Volume: (3) - Page Number: (14)
4346 - Abu Sahil Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad al-Nahwi narrated to us in Baghdad, saying: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa al-Qadi narrated to us, saying: Ishaq ibn Bishr al-Kahili narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us from Salim ibn Abi Hafsa, from Jamij ibn Umayr al-Taymi, from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) established brotherhood among his companions, and he made brotherhood between Abu Bakr and Umar, between Talha and az-Zubair, and between Uthman ibn Affan and Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf.
Ali said: O Messenger of Allah, you have established brotherhood among your companions, so who is my brother? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied: "Are you not pleased, O Ali, that I be your brother?" Ibn Umar said: Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was strong and courageous. Ali then said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said:
"You are my brother in this world and the Hereafter."
