Book of Migration - The Brotherhood of the Messenger of Allah between His Companions

4345 - Abdullah ibn Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Adl in Baghdad narrated to us, saying: Abdul Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Mansur al-Harithi narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn Qadim narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn Salih ibn Hayy narrated to us, from Hakim ibn Jubair, from Jamii ibn Umayr from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) arrived in Medina, he established brotherhood among his companions. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him, his eyes brimming with tears, and said: O Messenger of Allah, you have created brotherhood among your companions, but you have not created brotherhood between me and anyone else. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: O Ali, you are my brother in this world and in the Hereafter. Salim ibn Abi Hafsa also narrated from Jamii with an addition to the context.

4346 - Abu Sahil Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad al-Nahwi narrated to us in Baghdad, saying: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa al-Qadi narrated to us, saying: Ishaq ibn Bishr al-Kahili narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us from Salim ibn Abi Hafsa, from Jamij ibn Umayr al-Taymi, from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) established brotherhood among his companions, and he made brotherhood between Abu Bakr and Umar, between Talha and az-Zubair, and between Uthman ibn Affan and Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf. Ali said: O Messenger of Allah, you have established brotherhood among your companions, so who is my brother? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied: "Are you not pleased, O Ali, that I be your brother?" Ibn Umar said: Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was strong and courageous. Ali then said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "You are my brother in this world and the Hereafter."

4641 - Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Affan al-Umari narrated to us, and Abu Bakr ibn Abi Darm al-Hafiz narrated to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Abdullah al-Absi narrated to us. Both said: Ubaydullah ibn Musa narrated to us, Israel narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Manhal ibn Amr from Ubad ibn Abdullah al-Asadi, from Ali (ra), who said: "I am the servant of Allah and the brother of His Messenger. I am the greatest truthful one (al-Siddiq al-Akbar). No one will say this after me except a liar. I prayed before the people seven years, before anyone from this Ummah worshiped Him."
