- .... City of Knowledge: Al-Tirmidhi and others narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) raised to the heavens: "I am the City of Knowledge, and Ali is its Gate." The correct position is that the hadith is good, as stated by the two hadith masters al-‘Alai and Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqalani. The Sheikh has elaborated on this in his book Tahdhib al-Mawdu‘at and in his notes.

- .... And al-Dailami narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah(peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Ali is the gate of my knowledge and the one who clarifies to my ummah what I have been sent with." His love is faith, and his enmity is hypocrisy. Looking at him is compassion, and showing affection to him is worship."
