3938 - Ibn Abi Umar said: Marwan al-Fazari narrated to us from Qanan ibn Abdullah, who said that he heard Mus'ab ibn Sa'd narrating from his father, who said: I was sitting in the mosque with two men, and we were discussing Ali, and we spoke unfavorably of him. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) approached, angry, with anger visible on his face. I said, "I seek refuge with Allah from the anger of the Messenger of Allah." He replied, "What is it to you and me? Whoever wrongs Ali has wronged me," saying this three times. So, I would later be approached and told, "Ali is concerned about you," and he says, "Beware of the trial of al-Akhayns." I would respond, "Did he mention me by name?" They would say, "No." I would say, "There are many who shrink back from you." Far be it from me to harm the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) after what I heard from him!
