I replied, "Glory be to Allah! How can the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) be insulted?" She said, "Is Ali ibn Abi Talib not being insulted, along with those who love him? Volume: (3) - Page Number: (91)
2758 - Ali ibn Ishaq al-Wazir al-Isfahani narrated to us, as did Isma'il ibn Musa al-Sudusi, and Sa'id ibn Khaytham al-Hilali, from al-Walid ibn Yasar al-Hamdani, from Ali ibn Abi Talhah, a client of the Banu Umayyah, who said: Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan performed Hajj, and Muawiya ibn Hujayj performed Hajj with him. He was one of the most vehement people in speaking against Ali. He passed through Medina in the Mosque of the Messenger (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and al-Hasan ibn Ali was sitting with a group of his companions. It was said to him: This is Muawiya ibn Hujayj, who speaks against Ali (peace be upon him). Ali looked at the man, and the Messenger (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) approached him and said: Answer. He said: Who? He said: Al-Hasan ibn Ali is calling you. So he went to him and greeted him. Al-Hasan ibn Ali (peace be upon him) said to him: Are you Muawiya ibn Hujayj? He replied: Yes. Al-Hasan returned his greeting three times. Al-Hasan then said to him: You speak against Ali? He seemed to feel ashamed, and Al-Hasan (RA) said to him: By God, if you were to go to him at the Pond, and I do not see you returning to it, you would find him with his garment hiked up to his shins, driving away the hypocrites like a shepherd with strange camels, quoting the words of the truthful, trustworthy one (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): "And surely, he has failed who fabricates (a lie)."
