Hadith No: 1
Ibn al-Dimashqi - Jawahir al-Matalib fi Manaqib al-Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)

- .... And from Ibn Abbas: that after he was blinded, he passed by a gathering of Quraysh who were insulting Ali. He said to his companion: "What do I hear these people saying?" The companion replied: "They are insulting Ali." He said: "Take me back to them." So the companion took him back to them, and he said to them: "Which of you is insulting Allah?" They said: "Glory be to Allah! Who insults Allah?" He said: "And which of you has insulted the Messenger of Allah?" They said: "Whoever insults the Messenger of Allah has committed kufr." He said: "And which of you is insulting Ali?" They said: "Well, this one has indeed done so." He said: "Then I bear witness by Allah that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: 'Whoever insults Ali has insulted me, and whoever insults me has insulted Allah, and whoever insults Allah, Allah will cast him face-first into the Fire.'"

- .... And from Abi Abdillah al-Judhali who said: I entered upon Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and she said to me: "Is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) being insulted among you?" I replied: "God forbid!" She then said: "Is Ali (peace be upon him) being insulted in your presence?" I said: "As for this, it has happened." She said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: 'Whoever insults Ali has indeed insulted me.'" This was narrated by Imam Ahmad.

- .... And Zayd ibn Jud'aan said: I was sitting with Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, and he said: O Abu Ishaq, command your leader to look at this man, his face, and his body. So he went, and if his face was that of a Black man, while his body was white. The man said, "I approached him, and he was insulting Ali, Talhah, and al-Zubayr. I warned him, but he refused to listen. So I said, 'If you are lying, may God blacken your face.' Then a pinch appeared on his face, and his face became black." Ibn al-Dunya narrated this.

- .... Ibn Asakir and Ibn al-Najjar narrated from Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Do not curse Abu Bakr and Umar, for they are the masters of the elderly of Paradise among the first and the last, except for the prophets and messengers. And do not curse Hasan and Husayn, for they are the masters of the youth of the people of Paradise among the first and the last. And do not curse Ali, for whoever curses Ali curses me, and whoever curses me curses Allah, and whoever curses Allah will be punished by Allah, the Exalted."

- .... And Imam Ahmad, al-Tayalisi, and Ibn Asakir narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Whoever insults Ali has indeed insulted me, and whoever insults me has insulted Allah." Imam Ahmad and al-Hakim narrated from Ibn Abbas, Ibn Abi Shaybah, and Imam Ahmad from Ibn Abbas.
