32882 - "I did not choose him, but Allah chose him." Al-Tirmidhi recorded it in his book on virtues, Chapter on the Virtues of Ali, Number (3726) and said it is Hasan Gharib (good and strange) from Jabir.

33049 - What he did not reject: ‏‏did not reject it ‏:‏ to not reject the arrival, and they whispered to each other, meaning: to converse quietly‏‏, and he chose him: he specifically preferred him with his chosen private conversation (514) but Allah chose him. Good and strange It is narrated that he said:The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Ali on the Day of Ta'if and chose him, and the people said: "His private conversation with his cousin has been long." He then mentioned it.

36438 - Narrated from Junadb ibn Najiyah or Najiyah ibn Junadb: On the day of the Battle of Ta'if, the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood with Ali for a long time, then passed by. Abu Bakr said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, you have been conversing with Ali for a long time since today." He replied, "I am not advising him, but Allah is advising him."
