645 - Usbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: Na'im ibn Hakim al-Mada'ini narrated to us, from Abu Maryam, from Ali (radiAllahu 'anhu), who said: I went out with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) until we reached the Kaaba. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to me: "Sit and climb onto my shoulders." I began to rise him, but he saw weakness in me and descended, sitting for me, the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and said: "Climb onto my shoulders." So I climbed onto his shoulders. He then lifted me, and it seemed to me that if I wanted, I could reach the horizon of the sky." Until I climbed onto the house, which had a statue of yellow or bronze on it, and I began to move it from his right, from his left, from in front of him, and from behind him, until when I was firmly established, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to me: "Throw it." So I threw it, and it shattered like glass shatters. Then I descended, and I and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ran until we disappeared behind the houses, fearing that someone from the people would see us.

3439 - Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Kamil ibn Khalaf ibn Shajarah al-Qadi narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Ruh al-Mada'ini narrated to us, saying: Shababah ibn Suwar narrated to us, saying: Na'im ibn Hakim narrated to us, saying: Abu Mariam reported from Ali ibn Abi Talib (ra) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) took me and brought me to the Kaaba and said to me: "Sit." So I sat down next to the Kaaba. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ascended onto my shoulders and said to me: "Stand up." So I stood up. When he saw my weakness beneath him, he said to me: "Sit." So I descended and sat. Then he said to me: "O Ali, climb onto my shoulders." So I climbed onto his shoulders. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood up with me. When he stood up with me, it seemed to me that if I wished, I could reach the horizon of the sky. I climbed on top of the Kaaba, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) moved aside and said to me: "Cast their greatest idol, the idol of Quraysh, which was made of bronze and firmly anchored to the ground with iron pegs." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to me: "Deal with it," while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was saying to me: "Aha! Aha!": {"And say, 'Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish'"} (Surah Isra, 17:81). I continued to deal with it until I was able to gain control over it, and he said: "Throw it." So I threw it, and it shattered, and I fell from atop the Kaaba. Then I and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ran, fearing that someone from Quraysh or elsewhere would see us. Ali said: He did not ascend with him again until that time.

4324 - Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Musa al-Qurashi narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Dawud narrated to us, saying: Nu'aim ibn Hakim narrated to us, saying: Abu Maryam al-Asadi from Ali (RA), who said: On the night that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) instructed me to remain on his bed while he left Mecca as a migrant, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) took me to the idols and said: Sit. So, I sat next to the Kaaba. Then, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) climbed onto my shoulders and said: Rise. So, I rose with him. When he saw my weakness beneath him, he said: Sit. And I sat, and he was lowered from me, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sat for me. Then he said to me: O Ali, climb onto my shoulders. I climbed onto his shoulders, and then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) rose with me. It seemed to me that if I wished, I could reach the heavens and ascend to the Kaaba. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stepped aside, and I threw down their greatest idol, which was made of copper and anchored to the ground with iron stakes. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to me: Deal with it. So, I dealt with it, and I continued to handle it while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was saying: There, there. I kept managing it until I was able to overcome it. Then he said: Smash it. So, I smashed it and broke it, and I descended. This is a narration with a sound chain of transmission, and they did not include it.

8453 - Ahmad ibn Harb narrated to us, who said: Asbat narrated to us, from Nu'man ibn Hakim al-Mada'ini, who said: Abu Maryam narrated to us, saying: Ali said: I went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) until we reached the Ka'bah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) climbed onto my shoulders, and Ali lifted him. When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) saw his (Ali's) weakness, he said to him: Sit down. So, he sat, and the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) descended and said: Climb onto my shoulders. Ali lifted him again, and Ali said: It seemed to me that if I wanted, I could reach the horizon of the sky. Ali climbed the Ka'bah, which had a statue made of gold or bronze on it, and he began to struggle with it to remove it, shifting it left and right, forward and back, until he was able to get a good grip on it. Then the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Throw it away. So, he threw it, and it broke into pieces like glass breaking, and then he descended. I went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and we began to race until we disappeared behind the houses, fearing that someone from the people might see us.

769 - Yusuf ibn Musa narrated to us, who said: Ubaydullah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Nu'aym ibn Hakim, from Abu Maryam from Ali, who said: I went out at night with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) until we reached the Kaaba. He said to me: Sit down. Then he got up with me, and when he saw my weakness beneath him, he said: Sit down. So I sat, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) descended from me and sat down for me, saying: Climb onto my shoulders. So I climbed onto his shoulders, and then he got up with me until it seemed to me that if I wished, I could reach the horizon of the sky. I ascended the House and came to the idol of Quraysh, a statue of a man made of gold or bronze. I kept trying to move it, both left and right, from before it and behind it, while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Come on, and I continued to struggle with it. He then said: Throw it, so I threw it, and it broke like glass breaks. Then we went off running until we were hidden behind the houses, and nothing was placed on them afterward, meaning from those idols. This hadith is one we do not know to be narrated in this wording except from Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), with this chain of narration.
