8371 - Ahmad ibn Yahya narrated to us, who said: Ali ibn Qadim narrated to us, who said: Israel narrated to us from Abdullah ibn Shareek, from al-Harith ibn Malik, who said: I came to Mecca and met Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas. I said: "Did you hear of any virtue for Ali?" He replied: "We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the mosque when it was announced during the night for us to leave the mosque, except for the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the family of Ali." So we left. When morning came, his uncle came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, you expelled your companions and your uncles, but left this boy." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I was not commanded to expel you or to leave this boy. It was God who commanded this." Then he said from Abdullah ibn Shareek, from Abdullah ibn al-Ruqaym
from Sa'd: that al-Abbas came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: "You have closed our doors except for Ali's door." He replied: "I did not open them or close them." Abu Abdur Rahman said: Abdullah ibn Shareek is not considered significant in this regard, and al-Harith ibn Malik is unknown to me, nor is Abdullah ibn al-Ruqaym.
