1166 - And from Zayd, from Abu Ishaq from al-Ala' ibn Arar, who said: Ibn Umar was asked about Ali and Uthman. He said: As for Ali, do not ask about him; look at his position with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), for he blocked our doors in the mosque and kept his door open. As for Uthman, he committed a grievous sin on the day the two parties met, but Allah forgave him. He committed a sin among you less than that, and you killed him.
