- Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Mansur al-Faqih narrated to us, saying: Abu Mansur Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik al-Muqri narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr al-Khatib narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ghalib al-Faqih narrated, "We read to Abu Hafs ibn Bashran, and he said that Abu Abd Allah Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Ja'far ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib narrated to him, saying: Muhammad ibn Mahdi al-Mimuni narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Aziz ibn al-Khattaf narrated to me, saying: Shu'bah ibn al-Hajjaj, Abu Basitam, narrated to me, 'I heard Sayyid al-Hashimiyyin Zayd ibn Ali ibn Husayn in Madinah, in the Rawdah, say:My brother Muhammad ibn Ali told me that he heard Jabir ibn Abd Allah say: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say, 'Keep all the doors closed except for the door of Ali,'" and he gestured with his hand towards the door of Ali."

Ali was given three things that I would prefer to have been given over red camels: He was married to the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), Fatimah, and she bore him children, and he was given the banner on the Day of Khaybar while the doors of the people were closed except for his, and in the narration of Abdullah ibn Muhammad, except for the door of Ali (peace be upon him)."

- Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn al-Muslim al-Farzi narrated to us, saying: al-Hasan ibn Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hadid narrated to me, saying: Abdul Rahman ibn Abd al-Aziz ibn Ahmad ibn Ahmad ibn al-Tabiz narrated to me, saying: Abu Abdillah Muhammad ibn Isa al-Tamimi narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Yunus ibn Dawud al-Khulanil, from Hisham ibn Sa'd, from Umar ibn Asid, who said: I heard Ibn Umar say, "Ali ibn Abi Talib was given three virtues, and having one of them would be dearer to me than red camels: he married Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and she bore him Hasan and Husayn, the grandsons of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and the beloveds of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he blocked all the doors except for Ali's door.
- Abu al-Qasim ibn al-Samarqandi summarized this and narrated to us, saying: Abu Muhammad Ahmad ibn Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Abi Usman narrated to me, saying: Abu Ahmad Ubaydullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Muslim al-Farzi narrated to me, saying: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ja'far ibn Ahmad al-Mutayri narrated to us, from Abu Mansur Nasr ibn Dawud ibn Tawuq al-Khalanji, Abu Na'im, who said: Hisham ibn Sa'd narrated to us, from Umar ibn Asid, from Ibn Umar, who said: "He blocked all the doors except for Ali's door."

- Abu al-Ahz narrated to us, Quratakin ibn al-As'ad, that Abu Muhammad al-Jawahiri narrated to him that Abu al-Qasim Abdulaziz ibn Jaafar ibn Muhammad ibn Hamdi al-Khurqi said: Umar ibn Ayub al-Saqti narrated to us, Ubaydullah ibn Umar al-Qawariqi narrated to us, Yunus ibn Arqam narrated to us, Kathiir al-Nuwa Abu Ishaq and Awf al-A'rabi narrated to us from Maymun al-Kurdi, who said: We were with Ibn Abbas, and a man said: "I wish he would narrate to us about Ali." Ibn Abbas heard him and said: "I will surely inform you with the truth that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) commanded that the doors opening into the mosque be closed, and the door of Ali was left open." He continued: "They found this troubling, so he sent for them, saying, 'It has come to my attention that you are troubled by the closing of your doors and my leaving the door of Ali, and by Allah, I did not close anything of my own accord, nor did I leave anything of my own accord. I am nothing but a commanded servant. I was commanded to do something, and I did it. I can only follow what is revealed to me.'"
- Abu al-Qasim Hibatullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: Abu Ali ibn al-Mazhab narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Jaafar narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Ahmad narrated to me that my father said: Muhammad ibn Jaafar narrated to us, Awf narrated to us from Maymun Abu Abdullah, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: "A group of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) had doors opening into the mosque. One day, he said: 'Close these doors except for the door of Ali.'" Some people spoke about this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood up, praised Allah, and extolled Him, then said: "Indeed, I was commanded to close these doors, except for the door of Ali." He said, "And I, by Allah, did not close or open anything, but I was commanded to do something, and I followed it."
- Abu Sahl Muhammad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Fadl al-Razi narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Abdullah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Harun narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Hudhayfah ibn Khalifah Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, Awf narrated to us from Maymun, from al-Bara ibn Azib, who said: "A group of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) had doors opening into the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said one day: 'Close these doors except for the door of Ali ibn Abi Talib.'" Some people spoke about this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood up, praised Allah, and extolled Him, then said: "I was commanded to close the doors except for the door of Ali ibn Abi Talib." He continued, "And I, by Allah, did not open or close anything, but I was commanded to do something, and I followed it."
- Abu Bakr Wajih ibn Tahir narrated to us that Abu Hamid Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Azhari narrated to him that Abu Muhammad al-Mukhallidi said: Al-Mu'tamir ibn al-Hasan ibn Isa narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-Nufayli narrated to us, Miskin ibn Bakir narrated to us, Sa'bah narrated to us from Abu Balj from Amr ibn Maymun from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) commanded that all the doors be closed except for the door of Ali.

- And it was narrated from Zayd ibn Arqam from Sa'd, who was told to us by Abu al-Hasan the Shafi'i jurist, who said: Abd al-Aziz the ascetic told me, by saying: Abu Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr told me, by saying: Khaythama ibn Sulayman told me, by saying: Yahya ibn Abi Talib in Baghdad told us, by saying: Yazid ibn Harun told me, by saying: Fitr ibn Khalifah, from Abdullah ibn Sharik, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: I came to Medina and we sat with Sa'd, and he said: I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say to Ali: "You are to me like Harun to Musa," and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) observed the doors except for the door of Ali.
- He was told by Abu Ali ibn al-Sabt, who said: Abu Muhammad al-Jawhari told me, and also narrated to us by Abu al-Qasim ibn al-Husayn, who said: Abu Ali ibn al-Madhhab told them, by saying: Ahmad ibn Ja'far told us, by saying: Abdullah ibn Ahmad narrated to me that my father said: Hajjaj told us, by saying: Fitr, from Abdullah ibn Sharik, from Abdullah ibn al-Raqim al-Kinani, who said: We went out to Medina during the time of the Battle of the Camel and met Sa'd ibn Malik there, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) commanded that the doors opening into the mosque be closed and the door of Ali be left open.

- .... He said: How could he have accurately reported it from Shu'bah? He had a narration from Shu'bah about Yunus. He said: I asked Hisham ibn Urwah and said to him: I have heard Abu Ja'far mention it from Miskeen, and I said to Abu Abd Allah: No one else narrates this except him. He replied: I did not hear it from anyone else. I said to him: And he narrated from Shu'bah, from Abu Balj, from Amr ibn Maymun from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Close the doors of the mosque except for the door of Ali."
