- .... Ibn Hajar said in one place with strong chains of narration and in another with trustworthy men about the command to close every door in the mosque except the door of Ali.
- .... And in some narrations from al-Tabarani: They said, O Messenger of Allah, you have closed our doors, he replied: I did not close them, but Allah closed them.
- .... And to Ahmad, al-Nasa'i, and al-Hakim: "Close these doors except the door of Ali," and some people spoke about this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "By Allah, I neither closed anything nor opened it, but I commanded something and followed it." Ibn Hajar said: And the men in all are trustworthy.
- .... And al-Tabarani reports from Ibn Sumrah: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded us to close all the doors except the door of Ali, and he might pass through it while in a state of impurity.
- .... And al-Nasa'i has from the narration of al-'Ala ibn 'Arar, who said to Ibn Umar: "Tell me about Ali and Uthman," and he mentioned the hadith, which includes: "As for Ali, do not ask anyone about him, but look at his status with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): He closed our doors in the mosque and affirmed his door." Ibn Hajar said: And his narrators are those of sahih (authentic), except for al-'Ala, and Ibn Ma'in and others deemed him trustworthy. He said: These are hadiths, each chain of which is valid for use as evidence, let alone their totality.
