- .... in blocking the doors opening into the mosque except for his door Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) commanded to block the doors except for Ali's door; Tirmidhi narrated this.

- .... And Zayd ibn Arqam said: There were a few men from the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) who had doors opening into the mosque, and he said: "Close these doors except for the door of Ali." Some people spoke about this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood up and praised Allah and extolled Him and then said: "As for what follows, I was commanded to close these doors, except for the door of Ali," and some people have spoken about this. And I swear by Allah, I did not close or open anything, but I was commanded regarding something, and I followed that." Imam Ahmad recorded this.

- .... And from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Ali ibn Abi Talib has three attributes; having one of them is more beloved to me than red camels: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) married him to his daughter Fatimah, the most beloved of people to him, and she bore him the masters of the youth of Paradise and he filled the doors (of the mosque) except for his (Ali's) door." Imam Ahmad reported this.

- .... And he said: "Close all the doors of the mosque except for the door of Ali." He said that Ali would enter the mosque in a state of ritual impurity, as that was his way, and he had no other route.
