478 - And from Zayd ibn Arqam: There were a few companions who had doors opening into the mosque, and he said (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) one day: "Close these doors except for the door of Ali." Some people spoke about this, and he (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood on the pulpit and praised Allah and thanked Him, then said: "As for what follows: I was not commanded to close these doors except for the door of Ali." Your speaker speaks of this, and by Allah, I did not close anything nor open it, but I was commanded regarding something and I followed it." Ahmad narrated this.
479 - And from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: "Indeed, Ibn Abi Talib was given three special traits, and for me to have one of them would be more beloved than red camels: the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) married him to his daughter, and she bore him children, and he closed the doors except for his in the mosque, and he gave him the banner on the day of Khaybar." Ahmad narrated this.

- .... Hadith eleven narrated from Zayd ibn Arqam (may he be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said on a certain day: "Close all these doors except for Ali's door." He spoke about this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood up, praised Allah, and thanked Him then said: "As for what comes next: I was commanded to close these doors, excluding Ali's door," and one of you will speak about it. By Allah, I did not close anything or open it, but I was commanded regarding something." This was narrated by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad, and in Ibn Abbas's narration: "But Allah closed your doors."

385 - Narration Twenty: A group of the Companions had doors opening into the Prophet's Mosque (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). One day he said: "Shut every door in the mosque except for Ali's door." The doors were shut, and some people spoke about this until it reached the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he stood among them delivering a sermon. He said: "Some people have said about shutting the doors and leaving Ali's door open that I neither shut nor opened any doors, but I was commanded to do something, and I followed the command." Ahmad narrated this several times in al-Musnad and in the Book of Virtues.
