And from Sahel ibn Sa'd that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: "Tomorrow I will give the banner to a man through whom Allah will open (the victory)." So, the people spent the night pondering this and seeing who would be given it. When morning came, the people went out to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), all hoping to be given it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Where is Ali ibn Abi Talib?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, he is complaining of his eyes." So he ordered him to be called. He (the Prophet) then spat into his eyes and prayed for him, and he was healed on the spot as if he had never had anything wrong with him. And he was given the banner. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall we fight them until they are like us?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Slow down. When you have settled in their territory, invite them to Islam and inform them of their obligations in it regarding the truth. By Allah, if Allah guides through you a single man, it is better for you than red camels."
