And from Ibn Abbas: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was gravely ill and Aisha and Hafsa were with him when he entered. When the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) saw him, he raised his head and then said: "Come closer to me, come closer to me," and he supported him. He remained with him until he passed away. After he passed away, Ali stood up, closed the door, and Abbas came with the sons of Abdul Muttalib, and they stood by the door. Ali kept saying: "Woe to you, my father! You were good in life and good in death, and a good fragrance is emanating that they have not found the like of." He said: "Let it be, maintain a longing like the longing of a woman, and focus on your companion." Ali said: "Enter to al-Fadl ibn Abbas." The Ansar said: "We beseech you by Allah, what will be our share of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?" So, admit a man from among us named Aws ibn Hawl, carrying a jar in one of his hands. They heard a voice in the house saying: "Do not strip the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and wash him as he is in his shirt." So he was washed, with al-Fadl entering from under the shirt, and al-Fadl holding the garment off him, while the Ansari was pouring water, and Ali's hand was under a cloth, entering his hand under the shirt. I said: Ibn Majah narrated part of this, and al-Tabarani narrated it in al-Awsat and al-Kabir, and it contains Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, who is of good narration, although Ali weakened him, and the rest of his companions are trustworthy.
