Volume: (3) - Page Number: (195)
2908 - Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Siyar al-Maruzi narrated to us, saying: Abdan ibn Uthman narrated to us, from Abu Hamza, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Muqasim from Ibn Abbas that when the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) became gravely ill and Aisha and Hafsa were with him, Ali entered. When the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) saw him, he raised his head and then said: "Come closer to me, come closer to me," and he leaned on him. Ali stayed with him until he passed away. When he had passed, Ali stood up and closed the door. Al-Abbas came with the Banu Abd al-Muttalib, and they stood at the door. Ali kept saying: "I was always pure, alive and pure, dead, and his scent shone pure. They found nothing like it." He said: "It is the scent of your mourning, like the mourning of a woman." And they turned to your companion. Ali said: "Enter to Al-Fadl ibn al-Abbas." The Ansar said: "We beseech you by Allah regarding our share from the Messenger of Allah. So, bring in a man from among us named Aws ibn Khawli, carrying a jug in one hand." And they heard a voice in the house: "Do not strip the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and wash him as he is in his shirt." Ali washed him, putting his hand under the shirt, while Al-Fadl held the cloth away from him, the Ansari transferred water, and on Ali's hand was a cloth, entering his hand under the shirt.

Al-Tabarani - al-Mu'jam al-Kabir - Chapter on the Letter Alif - A Chapter on the Death of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)
Volume: (1) - Page Number: (229)
629 - Ibrahim ibn Hashim al-Baghawi narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Siyyar al-Marwazi narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Uthman narrated to us, from Abu Hamza al-Sukari, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Muqsim, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) became gravely ill and Aisha and Hafsa were with him, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him and his holy progeny) entered. When he saw him, he raised his head and then said: "Come closer to me." He leaned against him and remained with him until he (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) passed away. When he had passed, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him and his holy progeny) stood up and closed the door. Then Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) came with the sons of Abdul Muttalib, and they stood at the door. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him and his holy progeny) began to say: "Blessed are you, my father, pure in life and pure in death," and a fragrant scent emanated that they had never experienced before. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him and his holy progeny) said: "Enter to see al-Fadl ibn Abbas." The Ansar said: "We beseech you by Allah to give us our share of the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." So they admitted a man from them named Aws ibn Khawli, carrying a jar in one of his hands. They heard a voice in the house saying: "Do not strip the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and wash him as he is in his shirt." Ali (may Allah be pleased with him and his holy progeny) washed him, placing his hand under the shirt, while al-Fadl held the garment away from him, and the Ansari poured water. On Ali's (may Allah be pleased with him and his holy progeny) hand was a cloth, and he continued to move his hand.

Volume: (12) - Page Number: (141)
12708 - Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hadhrami narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah al-Jarjarai narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn Thabit al-Jazari narrated to us from al-Mukhtar ibn Nafie from Abd al-Alaa al-Timee from Ibrahim al-Timee from Ibn Abbas, who said: The Angel of Death came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) in the illness in which he was to pass away and asked for permission to enter, while his (the Prophet's) head was in Ali's lap. He said, "Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings." Ali (peace be upon him) replied, "Go back, for we are preoccupied with you." The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Do you know who this is, O Abu Hasan? This is the Angel of Death. Enter with guidance." So when he entered, he said, "Indeed, your Lord, the Almighty, sends you peace." Ali (peace be upon him) asked, "Where is Gabriel?" He replied, "He is not near me now, but he will come." And the Angel of Death went out until he descended upon Gabriel. Gabriel (peace be upon him) was standing at the door and said to him, "What brought you out, O Angel of Death?" He said, "I was looking for Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." When they both sat down, Gabriel said, "Peace be upon you, O Abu al-Qasim. This is a farewell from me and you, and it has been conveyed to me that the Angel of Death did not greet the family of any prophet before you, nor will he greet them after you."
