Chapter on What Has Been Narrated Regarding the Washing of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and What Manifested in This from the Signs of Prophethood.

- Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Ka'bi narrated to us, saying: Isma'il ibn Qutaybah narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr ibn Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad
from Abdullah ibn al-Harith, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was washed by Ali (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and Ali (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) washed the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) shirt, with a cloth in Ali's hand to wash him with. He then placed his hand under the shirt and washed him, the shirt remaining on him. Abu Tahir al-Faqih narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Qattan narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Yusuf al-Sulami narrated to us, saying: Ubaydullah ibn Musa and Ahmad both narrated to us, saying: Isma'il, meaning Ibn Abi Khalid,
from Amir, who said: I asked, "Who washed the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?" He said: "Ali, Usamah, and al-Fadl ibn al-Abbas washed him." He also said that they placed him in his grave, and Ali was saying while washing him: "With my father and my mother - pure, both in life and in death."
