5308 - And what has been narrated to us by al-Hasan ibn Abdullah ibn Mansur al-Balsi, who said: Al-Haytham ibn Jamil narrated to us, who said: Hisham narrated to us from Hisham ibn Hushab from Jamij ibn Umayr, who said: I entered with my mother upon Aisha, and my mother said to her: Who was the most loved of women to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)? She said: Fatimah. She said: And among men? She replied: Her husband. He said: Then what she mentioned about this in the hadith contradicts what she said in the hadith you mentioned before it in this chapter. Our response to him in this, with the guidance and help of Allah, the Almighty, is that there is no contradiction as he assumed. Rather, Aisha was asked in her first narration about the most loved people to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and what she understood was that no one could take precedence over his family in his love, just as no one else could take precedence over them in conveying messages from him, such as in the chapter of Bara'ah (Surah 9) and his statement: "No one will convey my message except a man from my family." She answered with the response mentioned regarding the most loved people to him, aside from his family. She was asked in her second narration about Ali, who is from his family, and she responded with the answer she had given previously. This clarifies what we conveyed about the meaning of the hadith of Usama and the hadith of Amr, as we mentioned regarding the significance of each one of them in this chapter, and it clarifies what we stated in what we narrated from Aisha concerning the rest of the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and others among people in his love.
