It was said, "What are they, O Commander of the Faithful?" He said: His marriage to Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and his residing in the mosque with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), where what is permissible for him is also permissible for Ali on that day, and the banner on the day of Khaybar." This is a hadith with a sound chain of narration, and they did not include it in their collections.

2675 - Muhammad ibn Ruziq ibn Jami' al-Masri narrated to us, saying: al-Haytham ibn Habib narrated to us, from Sufyan ibn Uyayna, from Ali ibn Ali al-Makki al-Hilali, from his father, who said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) during his illness in which he passed away, and Fatimah (ra) was at his head. He said: She wept until her voice was raised, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) lifted his gaze to her and said: My beloved Fatimah, what is it that makes you weep? She said: I fear that you will be lost to us after you. He said: O my beloved, do you not know that Allah, the Almighty, looked at the earth with a glance and chose from it your father, and sent him with His message Then He looked again and chose from it your husband, and ordered me to marry you to him? O Fatimah, we are a family whom Allah has granted seven special traits that He did not give to anyone before us, nor will He give to anyone after us: I am the Seal of the Prophets, the most honored of the prophets before Allah, and the most beloved of all creation to Allah, the Almighty and All-Powerful. I am your father and my vicar, the best of vicars, and the most beloved to Allah, and he is your husband. Our martyr is the best of martyrs and the most beloved to Allah, and he is your uncle, Hamzah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, who is your father's uncle and your husband's uncle. Among us is one who has two green wings and flies in Paradise with the angels wherever he wishes, and he is your father's cousin and your husband's brother. Among us are the two grandsons of this nation, and they are your sons, al-Hasan and al-Husayn. They are the masters of the youths of the people of Paradise, and their father, and the one who sent me with the truth, is better than them. O Fatimah, the one who sent me with the truth, from them will be the Mahdi of this nation when the world becomes tumultuous and chaotic, when tribulations prevail, paths are cut off, and some will attack others, with no elder showing mercy to a younger one, nor any younger one honoring an elder. At that time, Allah, the Almighty, will send from them one who will open the fortresses of misguidance and heal closed hearts, upholding the religion in the last days as I upheld it in the early days, and he will fill the earth with justice as it was filled with oppression. O Fatimah, do not grieve or weep, for Allah, the Almighty, is more merciful to you and more compassionate than I am, and that is due to your status with me and your place in my heart. Allah will bless you with a husband who is the most honorable in your family, the most esteemed in rank, the most compassionate to the subjects, the most just in dealings, the most discerning in matters, and I asked my Lord, the Almighty, that you be the first of my family to join me. Ali (ra) said: When the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) passed away, Fatimah (ra) did not remain after him except for seventy-five days until Allah united her with him (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).

1020 - Ali ibn Sa'id al-Razi and Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Husayn al-Sabuni al-Testari said: Isma'il ibn Musa al-Suddi narrated to us, saying: Bashar ibn al-Walid al-Hashimi narrated to us, from Abd al-Nur ibn Abdullah al-Mas'ami, about Shu'bah ibn al-Hajjaj, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Ibrahim, who said: Masruq narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: "I will tell you of a narration I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). I kept seeking witnesses to this narration but was not granted any." I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say during the Expedition of Tabuk while we were walking with him: "Indeed, Allah commanded me to marry Fatimah to Ali, and I did." Gabriel (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah has built a Paradise of pearls and reeds, with a pearl of ruby between every two reeds, and made the roofs of these reeds emerald green. He placed openings of pearls adorned with rubies in it, then made it overweight with rooms, each room built of silver bricks and gold bricks and bricks of pearl and ruby and emerald. He then made it filled with springs bubbling in its corners, surrounded by rivers, and placed domes of pearl on the rivers, intertwined with chains of gold, surrounded by various trees. He built a dome in every branch and placed in each dome a couch made of white pearl, covered with silk and brocade, and carpeted its floor with saffron, scented with musk and ambergris. In each dome, there is a beautiful maiden, and the dome has a hundred doors, with two guardians at each door and two trees in each dome, with furnishings. Around the domes, there is an inscription reading the Throne Verse (Ayat al-Kursi)." I said, "O Gabriel, for whom did Allah build this Paradise?" He said: "He built it for Fatimah, your daughter, and Ali ibn Abi Talib, besides her other gardens, as a gift, a precious gift to her, and a comfort for your eyes, O Messenger of Allah."

6540 - Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ruziq ibn Jami' who said: Al-Haytham ibn Habib narrated to us, from Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, from Ali ibn Ali al-Hilali, from his father, who said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) during his illness in which he passed away, and saw Fatimah at his head. He said: Then she wept until her voice was raised. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) raised his gaze to her and said: My beloved Fatimah, what is it that makes you weep? He said: O my beloved, did you not know that Allah looked upon the earth and chose your father from it, and sent him with His message then He looked upon the earth again and chose your husband from it, and revealed to me to marry you to him? O Fatimah, we are a family whom Allah has granted seven خصال (special traits) that He did not grant to anyone before us nor will He grant to anyone after us: I am the Seal of the Prophets, the most honorable of the Prophets before Allah, the most beloved of His creatures to Allah, I am your father, and my successor is the best of successors and the most beloved to Allah, and he is your husband. O Fatimah, the one who sent me with the truth, from them will be the guided ones of this ummah when the world becomes chaotic, and the trials manifest, the roads are cut off, and some will attack others, with no elder showing mercy to the younger nor the younger venerating the elder. Allah will then send from them one who will open the fortresses of misguidance and restore sealed hearts, demolishing them thoroughly, upholding the religion in the latter times as I upheld it in the early times, filling the earth with justice as it was filled with oppression. O Fatimah, do not grieve or weep, for Allah is more merciful to you and compassionate towards you than I am, and that is because of your place with me and your position in my heart. Allah will bless you with a husband who is the most honorable of my family in lineage, the most prestigious in rank, the most compassionate towards the community, the most just in dealings, the most insightful in judgments. I asked my Lord that you be the first to join me from my family, and He said." Ali ibn Abi Talib said: "When the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) passed away, Fatimah did not remain after him except for seventy-five days until Allah united her with him." (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). This hadith was not narrated from Ali ibn Ali except by Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, and Al-Haytham ibn Habib was unique in this.

Chapter on the Mention of the Marriage of Fatimah (peace be upon her) to Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) and the Great Honor with which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, Graced Them
Among the Marvellous Events that Allah, the Exalted, Specifically Bestowed upon Them in This Marriage
Volume: (5) - Page Number: (2129)
1615 - Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Makhlad al-Ittar narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Nahar ibn Ammar ibn Yahya narrated to us from Ya'la al-Taymi, who said: Abd al-Malik ibn Khiyar, a cousin of Yahya ibn Main, narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Dinar al-Ghurqi, at the shore of Damascus, narrated to us from Hisham, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, from Anas, who said: While I was sitting with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he was overcome by revelation. When it passed, he said to me: "O Anas, do you know what Gabriel (peace be upon him) brought me from the Owner of the Throne, the Mightiest and Majestic?" I replied, "May my father and mother be a sacrifice for you! What did Gabriel (peace be upon him) bring you from the Owner of the Throne, the Mightiest and Majestic?" He said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, commanded me to marry Fatimah to Ali." Go and call me Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Talhah, al-Zubair, and a number of the Ansar." So I called them, and when they took their seats, the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Alhamdulillah, the One who is praised by His blessings, worshiped by His power, obeyed by His sovereignty, sought in what is with Him, feared for His punishment, whose command is executed in His earth and His heavens, who created creation by His power, distinguished them by His decrees, honored them with His religion, and ennobled them with His prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, made marriage a lasting kinship and an obligatory matter, connecting the wombs and binding the people." He said: "Blessed be His name and exalted be His mention! And He is the One who created from water a human being, and made him a relative and a brother-in-law." So the command of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, flows to His decree, and His decree flows to His predestination, for every predestination has a fixed term, and every term has a written record. Allah erases what He wills and confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book." Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, commanded me to marry Fatimah to Ali, and bear witness that I have married her to him for four hundred mithqals of silver, if Ali is pleased with that." And Ali (peace be upon him) was absent, having been sent by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) on an errand. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ordered a platter containing fresh dates to be brought and placed before us, and then said: "Take and eat." While we were taking, Ali (peace be upon him) approached, and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) smiled at him. Then he said: "O Ali, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, commanded me to marry you to Fatimah, and I have married her to you for four hundred mithqals of silver, if you are pleased." Ali replied, "I am pleased, O Messenger of Allah." Then Ali tilted and fell into prostration, thanking Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, Who had made him love the best of creation, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "May Allah bless you both, and bless what is in you, and bring joy to your grandfather, and bring forth from you much goodness." Anas said: "By Allah, He certainly brought forth much goodness from them."
