Hadith No: 1
Abu Ja'far al-Iskafi - Al-Mi'yar wal-Mawazna fi Fada'il al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him)
He mentioned a page from his patience and endurance against his envious ones and opponents, and his non-Violation of them.

- And it reached the extent of his patience that some people sat out from his caliphate, but he did not confine them or dislike them. They spoke, but he did not punish them or exile them. He appointed them to what they undertook and did not act towards them as those you mentioned did with Sa'd ibn Ubadah

The ones who refrained from the pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr were: Ali, Abbas, Zubair, and Sa'd ibn Ubadah. As for Ali, Abbas, and Zubair, they remained in Fatimah's (peace be upon her) house until Abu Bakr sent Umar ibn al-Khattab to bring them out of Fatimah's house. He said to him: If they refuse, fight them!!! So Umar approached Fatimah's house with a torch of fire, intending to set the house ablaze upon them!! Fatimah met him and said: O son of al-Khattab, have you come to burn our house? He replied: Yes, or you will enter what the ummah has entered!!....
