- .... Abu Bakr narrated from Islm with a sahih chain of narration according to the conditions of the Two Shaykhs that when Abu Bakr was sworn in after the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), Ali and Zubair would enter upon Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and consult her, seeking her counsel in their matter. When this reached Umar ibn al-Khattab, he went out and entered upon Fatimah and said: "O daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)! By Allah, there is no one more beloved to us than your father, and there is no one more beloved to us after your father than you." And, by the oath of Allah, this will not prevent me from acting if these few gather around you, should you command them to burn the house down." Then, when Umar left, they came to her, and she said: "You know that Umar has come to me and has sworn by Allah that if you return, he will surely burn the house down on you, and by the oath of Allah, he will carry out what he has sworn." So they departed, guided ....
