3097 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, who said: Shu'ayb narrated to us from al-Zuhri, who told me that Urwah ibn al-Zubayr said that Aisha informed him that Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), sent a message to Abu Bakr asking him for her inheritance from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) from what Allah had bestowed upon His Messenger. And at that time, Fatimah was seeking the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) charity that was in Medina and what remained of the fifth of Khaybar. Aisha said: Abu Bakr replied, "The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, 'We do not inherit what we leave behind; it is charity.' The family of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) only ate from this wealth" - meaning the wealth of Allah - "and they are not allowed to acquire more than food. And, by Allah, I will not change the charities of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) from their condition that they were in during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and I will act in them according to what the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) did." So Abu Bakr refused to give Fatimah anything from it, and Fatimah felt wronged by Abu Bakr in this matter and withdrew from him, not speaking to him until she died, living for six months after the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). When she died, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) buried her at night without informing Abu Bakr, and Ali prayed over her....

989 - Abu Zur'ah Abdur Rahman ibn Amr narrated to us, saying: Abu Yahman al-Hakam ibn Nafi narrated to us, saying: Shu'ayb ibn Abi Hamzah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah from Aisha, who said: "Fatimah passed away six months after the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and Ali ibn Abi Talib buried her at night."
