- Ahmad ibn Mahiran (ra) and Ahmad ibn Idris narrated from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Jabbar al-Shaybani, who said: Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad al-Razi narrated to me, who said: Ali ibn Muhammad al-Hurmuzani narrated to us from Abu Abdullah al-Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon them), who said: When Fatimah (peace be upon her) passed away, Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) buried her secretly and concealed the location of her grave. Then he turned his face toward the grave of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and said: "Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, from me, and peace be upon you from your daughter, your visitor, and the one who lies in the dust in your sacred place, chosen by Allah for her to join you swiftly." He continued: "Tell me, O Messenger of Allah, about your chosen one, my patience, and my endurance for the Mistress of the Women of the Worlds...." until he said: "....And they are a source of agitation, and it will not be long before a separation occurs between us, and I complain to Allah. Your daughter will inform you of the collusion of your Ummah against her, so be sure to ask her and inquire about her situation. How many grievances are surging in her chest that she has no means to express!" And she will say, 'Woe to you!' Allah will judge, and He is the best of judges...."

And when I saw her, I remembered what would be done to her after me, as if I were seeing her with humiliation entering her house, its sanctity violated, her right usurped, her inheritance denied, her side broken, and her fetus miscarried, while she calls out: O Muhammad! but receives no response, and she cries for help but is not aided. She will remain after me in sadness, distress, and tears, remembering the cutoff of revelation from her house at one moment and recalling my separation at another. She will feel lonely when night falls, forsaken of my voice that she used to listen to when she prayed at night with the Quran, and then she will see herself humiliated, after having been honored in the days of her father ....

- Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Walid (may he be honored) narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Idris and Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar both narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Imran al-Ash'ari, who said: Abu Abdullah al-Razi narrated to us from Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Hamza, from Saif ibn Umayra, from Muhammad ibn Utbah, from Muhammad ibn Abdur Rahman, from his father, from Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), who said: While I was with Fatimah, Hassan, and Hussain at the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he turned to us and wept. I said, "What makes you weep, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "I weep for what will be done to you after me." I asked, "And what is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "I weep for your being struck on the head, for Fatimah being slapped on the face, for Hassan being stabbed in the thigh, and for the poison that will be given to you, and for the killing of Hussain." Then the people of the Ahlul Bayt all cried. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, did our Lord create us only for affliction?" He said, "Rejoice, O Ali, for Allah, the Almighty, has assured me that none will love you except a believer, and none will hate you except a hypocrite."

"Except that Fatimah is the gate to my home, and her house is my house. Whoever breaks into it has broken into the veil of Allah." Isa said: Then Abu al-Hasan (peace be upon him) wept for a long time, interrupted the rest of his speech, and said: "By Allah, the veil of Allah has been broken! - I say: Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Mas'udi said in the Book of Wasiyyah: The Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), acted by the command of Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, and was thirty-five years old. The believers followed him, while the hypocrites deserted him and set up a man for kingship and the affairs of the world, someone they had chosen for themselves rather than the one chosen by Allah, the Almighty, and His Messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). It is narrated that al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) had passed away and said to him: "Extend your hand so I can pledge allegiance to you." He replied: "Who seeks this matter and who is fit for it if not us?" And some people from among the Muslims came to him, including al-Zubayr and Abu Sufyan Sakhr ibn Harb, but he refused. The emigrants (Muhajirun) and the helpers (Ansar) disagreed.... until he continued.... "So they directed themselves to his home, burst in on him, and set his door on fire. They forcibly dragged him out and pressed the Mistress of the Women at the door until she miscarried Muhsin. They took him by force to pledge allegiance, but he resisted and said: 'I will not do it.' They replied: 'We will kill you.' He said: 'If you kill me, I am a servant of Allah and the brother of His Messenger.'" They tried to extend his hand, but he clenched it, and it was difficult for them to open it. So, they wiped their hands over it while it was still closed.... etc.

- Sayyid Ibn Ṭāwūs (may he be blessed) said in his book Zawā'id al-Fawā'id: Ibn Abī al-ʿAlā' al-Hamdānī al-Wāsiṭī and Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad ibn Ḥuwajj al-Baghdādī narrated, saying: We were in a dispute regarding Ibn al-Khattāb, and his matter was unclear to us. So we both set out for Ahmad ibn Isḥāq al-Qummī, the companion of Abā al-Ḥasan al-ʿAskarī (peace be upon him), in the city of Qum. We knocked on his door, and an Iraqi girl came out to us. We asked her about him, and she said: "He is busy with his feast, for it is a day of celebration." I said: "Glory be to Allah! The only festivals for the Shi'a are four: Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adhā, Ghadir, and Friday." She replied: "Ahmad ibn Isḥāq narrates from his master, Abā al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad al-ʿAskarī (peace be upon him), that this day is a day of celebration, and it is the best of festivals in the eyes of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) and their followers..." Until he said... and he innovated practices and other things, altered the faith, distorted the Sunnah, rejected the testimony of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), lied about Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, usurped Fadak from her, pleased the Jews, Christians, and Magians, and displeased the comfort of the eye of the Chosen One (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). He was not satisfied with her, altered all the Sunnahs, schemed for the murder of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), displayed injustice, and prohibited what Allah had made lawful, while legalizing what Allah had prohibited, leaving people to emulate the coins made from the hides of camels and slapped the face of the pure one (peace be upon her)....

Umar met her and said: O daughter of Muhammad, what is this book that you have with you? She replied: It is a book that Abu Bakr wrote for me, returning Fadak. He said: Bring it to me. But she refused to hand it over to him, so he kicked her with his foot, and she was pregnant, O son, whose name is al-Muhsin, and she miscarried al-Muhsin from her womb. Then he struck her, and it was as if I could see an earring in her ear when she was struck. Then he took the book and tore it up, and she went away. She remained sick for seventy-five days from what Umar had struck her, and then she passed away....

And the cause of her death was that Qunfudh, a freed slave of Umar, jabbed her in the side with the heel of his sword at his command, and she miscarried Muhsin. She fell severely ill from this and did not allow anyone who had hurt her to enter upon her. Two men from the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) asked the Commander of the Faithful to intercede for them with her, so the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) asked her, and she consented. When they both entered upon her, they said: How are you, O daughter of the Messenger of Allah? She replied: I am well, praise be to Allah. Then she said to them: Did you not hear the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say, "Fatimah is a part of me. Whoever harms her has harmed me, and whoever harms me has harmed Allah"? They said: Yes. She said: By Allah, you have surely harmed me. So they both left her, and she was displeased with them.

He said: "I submit to Your command, O Lord, and I have no strength to endure except with You. What are they?" He was told: "The first is hunger and the preference for others over yourself and your family for those in need." He said: "I accept, O Lord, and I am pleased and submit, and from You is the success and patience." As for the second, it is denial and severe fear, and with that, Your soul will be at stake in combating the people of disbelief with your wealth and yourself, and being patient with what befalls you from them in terms of harm, and from the people of hypocrisy and pain in battle and injuries." He said: "I accept, O Lord, and I am pleased and submit, and from You is the success and patience." As for the third, it is what your family will face after you in terms of killing. Your brother Ali will face from your community insults, harsh treatment, rebukes, deprivation, denial, and injustice, and the end of it will be death." He said: "O Lord, I accept and am pleased, and from You is the success and patience. As for your daughter, she will be wronged and denied, and her rightful claim will be taken from her by force, which You had ordained for her. She will be struck while pregnant, and your home and the dwellings of your women will be entered without permission. Then she will experience humiliation and disgrace, and she will find no one to defend her. She will lose what is in her womb from the blows and die from those injuries."

He kicked the door with his foot, and it was pushed back to me while I was in the act of carrying, so I fell on my face, and the fire blazed, and he slapped my face with his hand until my earring fell from my ear. So he read it, and it contained everything from the time of the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) passing until the day of al-Husayn's (peace be upon him) death, how he would be killed, who would kill him, who would support him, and who would be martyred with him. Then he wept bitterly, causing me to weep, and among what he recited was how it would be done to him and how Fatimah would be martyred, how al-Husayn (peace be upon him) would be martyred, and how the community would betray him....
