- Imam Ahmad and al-Bawardi narrated from him, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Rejoice with the Mahdi, a man from Quraysh, from my lineage, who will emerge during a time of disagreement among the people and will fill the earth with justice and fairness, as it has been filled with oppression and injustice." He will be pleasing to the Inhabitant of heaven and the Inhabitant of earth, and he will distribute wealth in equitable shares." They asked, "What are equitable shares, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Equal amounts," and he will fill the hearts of the Ummah of Muhammad with abundance and his justice will be sufficient for them until he orders a caller to announce, 'Whoever has a need of me, let him come to me,' and no one will come to him except for one man who will approach him and ask. He will say, 'Go to the treasurer, and we will give you.' So he will go to him and say, 'I am the Messenger of the Mahdi to you. He sent me to give you something.' The Mahdi will say, 'Sift,' and he will sift, but will not be able to carry it, and it will fall until it is only as much as he can carry.' He will leave and feel regret, saying, 'We will not take anything we were given,' and he will remain in this state for six, seven, eight, or nine years, with goodness in life after him."
- Abu Ya'la, Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban, and al-Hakim narrated from Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The Hour will not be established until the earth is filled with oppression and tyranny, then a man from my family will emerge and fill it with justice and fairness, as it was filled with oppression and tyranny."
- Al-Raf'i narrated in Tarikh Qazwin and Ibn Majah from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The Hour will not be established until a man from my family rules." He will open Constantinople and the mountains of Daylam, and if only one day remains of the world, Allah will prolong that day until he opens it. In another narration: "until a man from my family rules the mountains of Daylam and Constantinople."
- Imam Ahmad, Abu Ya'la, Samwayh, and al-Diya narrated in al-Mukhtarah with a weak chain from Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The Hour will not be established until a man from my family rules, bald-headed and aquiline-nosed, filling the earth with justice as it was filled with oppression before him, for seven years."
- Al-Tabarani narrated in al-Kabir, al-Daraqutni in al-Ufrad, al-Hakim, and Abu Dawood from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "If only one day remains of the world, Allah will make a man from my family ruler in it." In another narration: "If only one day remains of the world, Allah will prolong that day until a man is sent." In yet another narration: "The world will not come to an end until Allah sends a man from my family whose name matches my name," and the name of his father will be the name of my father, filling the earth with justice and fairness as it was filled with oppression and tyranny.
- Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawood, and al-Tirmidhi narrated - and he said it is حسن صحيح (hasan sahih) - and al-Tabarani in al-Kabir from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The world will not pass away or come to an end until an Arab man from my family rules, whose name matches my name." In another narration: "The Hour will not be established until a man from my family takes over, whose name matches my name."
- Al-Daylami narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "If only one night remains of the world, Allah will prolong that night until a man from my family takes over."
- Ibn Adi, al-Tabarani in al-Kabir, and Ibn Asakir narrated from Muawiya ibn Qurrat al-Mazni, from his father (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The earth will be filled with injustice and oppression. When it is filled with injustice and oppression, Allah will send a man (from me) whose name is my name," and the name of his father will be the name of my father, filling it with justice and fairness as it was filled with injustice and oppression. Neither the sky will withhold any of its rain nor the earth any of its vegetation, and he will remain among you for seven or eight years, or more, up to nine, meaning nine years.
